Solid but unimaginative
Having stayed in the another hotel (in Playa Blanca, Menorca) in the same hotel group we believe we were armed with that experience and the relatively positive reviews both here and on a couple of forums that we felt we selected the best base given the chosen location. So it was we arrived at the hotel with a sense of what we could expect and generally we were not disappointed. Having touched based by email in the month before. We discussed aspects of our stay and finer points of the hotel amenities. In short, I believe were well informed with few and only good surprises to be encountered. So to the review; the Hotel is, for the area, well located for services and facilities as well being either direct on or close to the beach dependent on which part of the sprawling complex you are based. The exterior area surrounding the hotel is chiefly residential with some retirement homes nearby and a few other hotels within their own demarked complexes. The hotel accommodation buildings are solid if utilitarian and offer access to all its facility within a modest walk irrespective of where you are on the complex. Inside the core hotel area is well laid out with the main bars and restaurant at the heart of the ground floor with its own access point to the well maintained grounds, fountained walkway and main pool area beyond. The reception area is to the side of this with its own access doors and staffed by some good reception staff. The rooms and general area particularly around the restaurant and evening entertainment area were of a good standard but not quite as that of the previous hotel mentioned at the start of my review. While we chose to have a mid-floor and quiet room. If we were to return I would favour going for a room in one of the blocks closer to the main building purely for the ease of access to more of the facilities but would avoid looking to get too close the beach accommodation due to the high number of families favouring that option. Being on an all Inclusive basis the food and drink available at the hotel was generally varied and of a good standard for Spain. There’s no waiting on service as such but gaining a rapport with a few helped the dining experience considerable from getting a good table to fresh linen and tableware a smile and a kind word worked wonders. The food itself could vary considerably which was a little disappointing but if you knew what you liked and where willing to choose your dining times appropriately you could have a really pleasurable experience. From the Al a carte beach restaurant through the outdoor grill to the main restaurant itself you could find an enjoyable experience with a modest level of effort throughout our stay. The main pool and water park/slides are a guest magnet and a pleasant addition if on the bustling and at times chaotic side. The beach itself is dark coarse sand which you easily sink to your ankles in, so beach shoes are advised, is accessible from the beach gate just after the bar area or by the side access ways for those further inland on the complex. There is lot more detailed information relating to the hotel and the immediate area than could be discussed here but I feel it’s sufficient to say that the above covers most of the things that stand out regarding the hotel. This hotel is a solid option if lacking imagination in parts. Recommended for the area.
Highly recommended
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Pools, food, room and customer service was excellent. The only downside was the beach that smelled and we couldn't use and thee shows were boring and not interactive. In general, I highly recommend this hotel for family vocation.
Fantastic for kids
loved it, great for the kids 👍 there are 3 main pools with plenty for all types of activities. Will definitely returning back hopefully sometime soon. Plenty of food for everyone and choices for all.
Misleading
Very disappointed, we arrived here for a 6day stay after being moved from our original hotel Los patos globes benalmadena. Having experienced many family hotels at Los patos we was very disappointed with this hotel even thou this hotel is ran by the same company how different the service could be. Ok so the slides are great but shame about the rest , the food was always cold not much of variety, the rooms were not cleaned properly: ants everywhere and the staffs attitude towards people was not welcoming. If you chose to stay at a globe's hotel please go to Los patos benalmadena where the staff are incredible: including the life guards , the kitchen staff , the cleaners, the director.At Los patos the welcoming service you get is amazing always ready the go the extra mile , I would advise they look at the difference between their hotels.
Great family hotel
This hotel has everything on site with no need to leave. If you want to go to restaurants and walks this is not the hotel for you. I did the research beforehand and was happy to stay on site. The various pools and water slides kept the kids happy. We stayed in July/August and always got a sun lounger. The daybeds on the terrace with stunning views were always available. The dining area can be busy, however we always sat in one of the rooms off the main area. Food and drink is typical all inclusive with plenty choice. Entertainment was ok, some nights better than others. We were just happy to be sitting outside at night in the heat as we dont get to do it often in Ireland. Queues for the bar moved quickly, plenty of choice. Room was small but didnt bother us as we only used it to sleep/change. No negatives at all apart from other guests who would leave their empty glasses/rubbish beside their sunbeds rather than use the many bins onsite. Overall a great relaxing place to stay where the kids are kept busy day and night! Ostan deas.
