Great choice for a stopover with a difference!
En route from Switzerland to the UK, this lovely "shabby chic" chateau in Champagne country is well located about 20 minutes or so off the motorway just before Reims, and not far from Epernay. We were warmly welcomed - all staff seem to speak excellent English and are friendly and approachable. We were given a room upgrade which was a bonus! The grounds are great for an early evening stroll and the surroundings and chateau interiors grand and imposing, making our one night stay quite a unique experience. Everything was very efficiently organized in consideration of the prevailing Coronavirus situation. The evening meal was really delicious accompanied by a pleasant wine recommended by our waiter - naturally our aperitifs were local Blanc de Blancs champagne! We took breakfast in our room, making the most of the fabulous views over the grounds and fountains. It was not cheap but good value we thought for the experience of staying in a "stately home". We rounded off our trip with a visit to stock up on a case of local champagne at Borel Lucas. We were well pleased with our purchase and suitably refreshed and rested for continuing our journey north. To be recommended.....
Stunning hotel
We had a one night stop over whilst traveling back to the UK. Stunning location. The hotel is chic and the rooms are comfortable. We food in the restaurant is amazing and the service is outstanding. The only letdown was the breakfast, which was very basic but overall a must you want to stay in the area.
Beautiful chateau - lack of wines available
Absolutely stunning Château but the local area has absolutely nothing to do. Unless you want to drive a while in order to eat during the day or have a lot of money to spend on dinner, don’t go here. Rooms and inside of building stunning though!
charming
lovely old property - the main building has all the look and feel of the chateau butjsut note no lift or air con. That did not impact on our stay and they do have newer rooms in an adjacent building if you'd prefer. Staff were friendly and helpful. plenty of garden area and we did see several dogs at the property but no pool. W ate at the property and good food and wine.
Definitely very well worth the visit in every way.
A wonderful building, very comfortable accommodation and a excellent dinner using high quality ingredients and of course lovely wines (champagne!), Staff all helpful and appropriately friendly. Quite expensive but well worth it.
