Beautiful establishment for a special occasion

We stayed in a junior suite which was well appointed and comfortable. Great service on arrival and we enjoyed the gin tray although would have preferred two of the same gins or a drink of both for each of us! Signature Tasting menu was grand on the whole, of course not every course was a winner accounting for different tastes and preferences. The evening was compromised by the allowance of young children in the restaurant who were not eating and were understandably bored with their parents 2 hour meal and were acting in the expected manner into the late evening. We have young children of our own so understand the difficulties and are used to noise but wouldn't expect a restaurant of this calibre to allow noisy infant school children to disturb other diners to the degree that occured and would have expected a quiet word with the parents or to have a policy if children aren't eating they are looked after elsewhere . We had no towels in our room which was swiftly rectified but not what you expect given the cost of the stay/in a 5 star establishment, but we were duly compensated for the issues which is credit to the duty manager on check out. Overall a lovely night away with good food and a beautiful surrounding just needing some minor tweaks to justify the price paid.

Bought this as a gift for a close friend. We had the taster menu. The food was delicious, the staff were very attentive and the restaurant itself was lovely. Spotlessly clean, beautiful decor and set in a lovely location.

We were en route to a holiday further down in Devon and this was indeed a lovely “stop-over”. The service was exemplary throughout and the rooms and lounges well-equipped. The gin-tray is a welcome touch, yet - like most hotel rooms - you can tell that no employee has ever “tested” their usability/practicality! (make-up light/stool height and bath access!. The Tasting Menu was absolutely what you’d expect from a 2 star establishment; tho it is certainly in the pricier side, even for this. Lovely views through the vineyard over the Exe provide a lovely backdrop, tho I hope that the building of a new spa doesn’t make everything feel too “country-club”

The whole experience at Lympstone Manor is at the top end of the scale. The setting alone, with views across the wonderful estuary is spectacular. The staff were fantastic, the room was wonderful and the 'Estuary" tasting menu made our stay truly memorable. We walked directly from the hotel grounds on the Exe valley trail. After a 2 night stay we left completely contented.

There was a lot of confusion when placing order from the menu. Because it was during Covid we had to read the menu on our phones and order from there. The food was exquisite and very memorable. The waiting staff were very pleasant. As it was mid summer we enjoyed coffees and drinks in the garden with views of the estuary. Was an expensive lunch but will definitely return for the experience.
