Amazing stay

Reviewed 9 november, 2021

Came to Faliraki for a family wedding and we chose Apollo Blue and it didn’t disappoint. The room was super spacious with a lovely balcony with a sea view and having a shared pool with reserved sun beds for our room was great. The plentiful food was served in a spacious dining room with lots of outdoor but undercover seating and the waiting staff were all very welcoming with nothing too much trouble. The pool bar was really nice to sit and have an afternoon/evening cocktail. The hotel overall was spacious, light and airy and kept very clean. The reception staff are the most amazingly helpful people around…My Husband left his brand new iPad at security at the airport!! We didn’t realise until we had returned to UK but a few calls and emails and they sent someone to collect it packaged it and sent it to us here in the UK, such exceptional service and refusing to accept payment for any of their help was beyond kind. We will return. Thanks again everyone at Apollo Blue.

Same Quality Level Again

Being there for the 4th time, i just can recommend this hotel. The building itself and all the infrastructures may not be the newest one (Built 2008 i believe) but every thing is extremely clean and well serviced. But to me the most important thing is the people working there, this what makes your stay very much enjoyable. The ladies from the receptions, Stavros with its team at the breakfast, Lucas, Kiki and the other members of the team at the lunch at the Taverna blue, Victor and Georgios at the Pool Bar. All of them nice, professional and very pleasant people making you feeling a very cosy friendly atmosphere. I will for sure come back next year.

Congratulations to all people working in this hotel that offered my friends and me a unique experience. From the welcoming reception staff and the helpful guys working at the bars and restaurants, to the professional, kind and smiley cleaning ladies. The food and snacks were great and with many choices that even the most demanding person will find something to leave the restaurants satisfied. Moreover, the hotel offers outstanding entertainment and sports activities, fantastic pools and a nice sandy beach that we barely visited places outside the hotel. Last but not least, we appreciated the strict hygiene rules in the restaurants and all interior spaces. Will definately visit it again.

Pretty on the outside, yuck on the inside

First I will preface this by saying that in the same week my husband and I stayed at four different hotels in Greece within the same week, which gives us a good flavor of hospitality in the country. Especially in a COVID-influenced world (and during the worst heatwave in 20 years). In every other place we stayed we were greeted with a warm welcome, but the reception at the Apollo Blue felt as though we were inconveniencing them. They call themselves a “5 star hotel”, but to be honest other than the outside facade, the service of this place is about 2-3 stars. We had booked for 2 nights but our flight was canceled due to high winds and we needed to cancel the first night. When we first contacted them to let them know that our incoming flight was canceled and that we would be on a very early flight the next day, we hoped we would be able to check in a couple hours early (to the room we had originally booked!) so that we would be able to get a nap before the wedding that we traveled across the world to attend. They informed us that there would be a €70 charge to check in early. This was strange to me because my friend checked in early at the same hotel days earlier with no mention of such a charge. Additionally, the €70 is quite steep considering it really wasn’t that much more than the cost of the room for that week! When I mentioned all this to them they did eventually change their mind about charging us to check in a couple hours early. Shortly after check in we noticed that the shower door (of the smallest shower I think I’ve ever seen) was broken, BUT that we had a horrendous day of travel and we were calling to let them know it was like that when we arrived (so we wouldn’t later get charged for damaging the room) but to PLEASE not come fix it in that moment because we were right about to sleep. We asked them three times to please not come to disturb us. Well, naturally moments after we fell asleep they come banging on the door and before we could even answer they just barge into the room! It was extremely unprofessional and rude. The bed felt like it was made of cardboard and lumpy pillows. The bedding felt kind of sticky, and very, very old. The bathroom sink was covered in ants. They provided the absolute bare minimum for towels. Due to our early check out they kindly prepared breakfast boxes, but got the time wrong and woke us up extra early, then rudely told us that we “were late” and did we even want the breakfast…I think we would know better than them when we needed to leave. All in all, I’m sure there are WAY better places to stay in Rhodes. Avoid this place. The 2 stars they got from us are really just because the outside is very pretty.

I loved this hotel. It has everything that I needed. I visited for a week. Especially I loved morning calming yoga with very friendly instructor Sorina. The whole staff was very nice. The see was clear and it wasn’t difficult to find spot on the beach or pool.
