A good economical hotel

I stayed here during a football weekend for the U of Arkansas when every other hotel was 3x their normal rate while this one was only 2x. I found it quite nice. A little dated but the air conditioning worked great, the king bed was soft, the water pressure was good, the room was clean, and there was a liquor store and a pretty good Mexican restaurant a 5 minute walk away. Plus you could walk to Razorback Stadium in about 45 minutes. And they had a decent free breakfast. I’d certainly recommend it as you will save a couple of hundred a night compared to the hotels just next door. I don’t get the bad reviews…that just wasn’t my experience at all. And to those whining about the 100$ incidental…don’t get out much do you? Everyone does this. It was refunded the next day.

Entered info from my DL into their system. Wanted to copy my DL. Charged $100.00 deposit. We left and went to another hotel. We’ve stayed at many hotels in the area, and have never had these demands..

Booked on Expedia to save money, quick check-in, paid the deposit with cash for a quick refund at check-out and to avoid dealing with a credit card refund etc, clean hotel and rooms, room cooled wonderfully, very nice breakfast for an inexpensive hotel, friendly attendants, quick check-out...overall great experience for an affordable overnight hotel stay!
Cancelled trip horror

My reservation was cancelled due to the card holding it being denied. I had closed my checking account the day before and just didn't think about this. I had planned (and did) use a different card. I got a phone call and was told that if I didn't give a card, right then, that my room would be cancelled. I told the person that I was currently driving (SW MO roads - curvy and mostly no shoulder) and that there was no way I could get to my card. She told me that she would let "them" know. That was at 1:09 pm. I told her that I would be there in about an hour. I received an email with the timestamp of 1:19 pm stating that my reservation was cancelled. I saw that when we got to the hotel at 2:08. My reservation stated that I could check in as early as 2pm. The sign at the check-in desk stated that check-in time was 3pm. I told them that I was checking in and they began to do that, I thought. They were actually making a new "reservation". I said ok to the $100 damage fee. Then was told that the charge would be $300 (and something). I asked if that included the fee and was told no. My original price was $206.09. I booked this stay on May 21. I was told that since my reservation was cancelled, I would be paying the full rate. The young man had asked about the room I was being put in, and the woman standing there had something handwritten between the two computers. She told him that was the room she had me in. So, my reservation is cancelled, but she still has me on a list with a room assigned? And they want to charge my full price. I left. My husband went online and reserved the room, King Deluxe Suite, for about $230. So, we're sitting in the parking lot and can get the room cheaper? Not what I had originally reserved it for, but close.
The young man at the front desk was great. Just wanted that recognized.
Good hotel, strange practice

The hotel is very clean and the bed was so comfortable. They required a $100 deposit when I checked in even though I paid for the room in advance. The manager and clerk would not let us check in until we paid the $100 deposit. It was refunded at check out but I wasn't prepared to pay a deposit. Luckily I could borrow the $100 from my daughter. I find it to be a strange practice.
