Awkward for pets
Reviewed 15 october, 2021
This hotel is among those that designate certain rooms for pets, as well as charging an extra fee for them. This will limit the quality of accommodation that those traveling with pets can expect. Our assigned room was a basic hotel room on the first floor, facing the parking lot. The room was clean enough but on the cramped side. Everything was just “OK”. The grounds are very limited, but there are a few patches of grass in the parking lot which were enough to support a short dog walk. The place was busy, and the inside hallways are pretty narrow. Breakfast was quite basic but well tended to. I never encountered a moment when they were out of something.
Delightful find in Flagstaff

Your first challenge - find the hotel, and the front door! This is the most under-signposted hotel I've ever stayed at. But that said, the staff were charming, the room certainly sufficient for the room rate, and our stay was very comfortable. It's a little off the main highways, so that reduced the traffic noise. And it's one of the few hotels we've stayed at where masks were not required, and an actual buffet breakfast WAS being served! (We've stayed at several recently that said they had a buffet breakfast, only to be given a brown snack bag instead 'because of COVID". If you are looking for somewhere reasonable, clean and welcoming for a short stay in Flagstaff, you can do no better than this.

This is a 2021 Comfort brand Platinum award winner. The facility was great. Kudos to front desk staff member Mollie for getting us directed by phone to the hotel location. GPS is a bit off in that location. Clean room, nice bed and warm cookies in the evening.
Great location to visit Grand Canyon area

This hotel is in a great location for visiting the Grand Canyon. It is about 2h drive to the Grand Canyon, and near many amenities and food outlets. The room is slightly dated but clean. Appreciated the hot breakfast in the morning. Lift seems a little slow and small so a room on the 1st floor that you can walk straight in from the lobby might be good.
Southwest Road Trip

The first stop on our family’s Southwest Road Trip was the Comfort Inn Flagstaff (I 17 & I 40). It is an attractive property in a nice neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and stores. The Comfort Inn is fairly new and has a wonderful lobby where they serve an above average breakfast. Our first room had a smoky/musty odor and we were given a second room. While the second room did not smell as much, the toilet churned after each flush (wasting water!) and my wife thought the carpet felt sticky. On the bright side, our room was well appointed and quiet. One final note, while I am not all that persnickety about COVID-19, I was surprised that there was no plexiglass partition at the front desk. The front desk staff, while friendly and helpful, did not wear masks either. Because of the condition of the room and the weak COVID-19 precautions, I am deducting 1 star. So, 4 stars instead of 5.
