More about the hotel
Avoid if possible. Definitely not worth the price
We were given a 4 person room in the attic. Old furniture, broken shower, hairdryer fixed with a duct tape, and very low quality door protecting all your stuff left in the room. But what is worse is that it was veeery cold because the room had no heating at all. And when we asked the receptionist for any help we heard that he feels warm and there is nothing he can do. He didn’t even try to help. So we eventually found some blankets to cover ourselves. And all of these for almost 500€. Sooo bad.
Accommodating and very nice hotel
My first time in Italy. This was our second accommodation and looking back on our whole Italy tour, this is by far the best place we stayed out. I would love to say a deepest heartfelt thanks to the gentleman who checked us in on Aug. 17. When we came in to check in, tried and weary , we realized that we had left our documents somewhere. The gentleman who checked us in , was so accommodating and went over and beyond helping us locate and retrieve our documents, checked us in and settled us down. The room was very spacious and had a loft bedroom for a family of four. The breakfast was good. When I hurt my back, the front were a huge help in calling us a taxi so we can tour what Firenze offers. Close to train station and great parks. So glad we stayed here.

Awful stay
We booked a double room for one night in August - first thing I am saying is that the quality/price ratio is awful and we stayed there only because we had only booked a 1-night stay, otherwise we would have left. - we asked indications about the parking, the guy at the reception (Gianni) did not care nor did he put any effort in suggesting any free parking location, no matter whether nearby or far away, when he understood we were not going to use the “parking offer” the hotel has with a garage nearby (€24 per day — hint for other tourists: if you want to put your car in a garage, you’d better select another 3-star hotel with garage included for the same total price of room + garage , there are some available in the city centre). We found free parking anyway on our own. - we were assigned a room just behind the main reception. Asked for a change of room (also because on booking.com, when booking the room, I specifically asked not to be assigned to the “ground floor” of the hotel ie. where the main reception is. My wish was not taken into consideration) but our request was not addressed. - the doors of the rooms do not grant even the barest level of privacy. The room was extremely noisy and starting from 7 am, when guests started having breakfast, we abandoned the idea of sleeping. Always about the door: you can totally hear other people having sex from the corridor. You can almost make out the words if they speak at a normal voice level. The doors could be made of paper for the level of insulation they provide. - one of the worst things was the smell in our room, which was awful: we kept the window open but this did not allow air to circulate (the window was on an internal passage in the building) nor natural light to enter the room. Also, there were tons of mosquitos in the room, so we had to decide between the trade-off: keeping the window open and be eaten off alive by mosquitos, or keeping the window close and have an awful bad smell of old forniture and stale air in the room. - forniture in the room was very old (also part of the extremely bad smell) and generally very dusty if not dirty. We tried not to touch anything and we did not take out at all our clothes from our luggages. The bedsheets were the only clean thing. We had also a green blanket on our bed which smelled terribly and probably had not been recently washed, and we put it aside. - bathroom: many parts were broken or with repairs hastily put together. Shower had woman hair on the floor. The bad smell was even stronger in the bathroom, which had no windows. - general rudeness of the staff at the reception: when we asked them to be mindful of having guests 5 meters away in a room for the night, they simply did not care and said “doors were old”. I am really appalled by my experience in this hotel. 2 starts means having less services and comfort, not having a dirty room with broken parts, no privacy and being unable to sleep in the morning due to the noise coming from the corridor. I suggest people looking at this hotel to either book at other 2-star hotels (I can say by experience: better quality for the same or even a slightly lower price); if you really want to have a super cheap holiday then visit the hostel nearby, much cleaner and much more honest in terms of offered services; or if you are interested in parking for your car, then book a stay at a 3-star hotel with parking included in the price of the room (there were offers on booking.com for €80/€90 per night in the city centre). I have no reasons to suggest anyone a stay in this hotel, and many reasons to suggest to book elsewhere.
So quaint ....
I booked this hotel through booking.com and the price was amazing for Florence. I loved the hotel atmosphere, I am Italian and the breakfast room reminded me of home. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. The only problem we had was with the bathroom 😪 (shower not working properly) but hey, 20 min walk from the centre and 10 from the station, this hotel was everything we wanted.
