Post COVID visit
this is a great area for shopping and eating. It is right across the street from the shopping center so everything is within walking distance. It is starting to get a little more crowded with guest post-covid. There is no pool but there is access to the pool next door at the residence inn. The rooms are a little dusty and could use more housekeeping services. Housekeeping services are not available during your stay. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful with assisting us with additional linen.
Never Again
The room was huge. I'm not complaining about that, but the bed was on the far side of the room the TV was across from it, not a huge TV, needed binoculars to see if you were on the bed. There was an easy chair in the corner, that you had to pull up into the room so you could see the TV. The shower handle fell off in my hand and then again in my husband's. One of the staff, in my opinion was very rude to me. When we checked in I asked the young man working at the desk how far was the casino from the hotel. He told us that the casino had a complimentary shuttle. Let them know at the desk when we wanted to go and they would call and request shuttle for us. 2 days later I called the desk, oh I forgot the phone didn't work, so I had to call from my cell phone to the front desk... I asked the girl who answered to please call the shuttle for us. Her response was, we don't do that. It's up to the guests to call the casino themselves. I told her about my conversation with the gentleman when we checked in. Well, I don't know about that she said. I've worked here six years and never called the casino for a shuttle. I called the casino, long story short, they said hotel desk needed to call because confirmation was needed that we were staying at the hotel. So there you have it. This is the second time I stayed there, it actually was a mistake. I thought I was booking at a different hotel in Folsom. The first time we stayed there we woke up one morning to no hot water for showers. Need I say more?
Great Location; Clean Modern Rooms
Very nice stay at the Courtyard in Folsom. The location is super convenient to so many stores and restaurants and is right on the freeway. The staff is very nice as well. This is likely going to be our go-to spot for driving between the Bay Area and the Sierra.
Great hotel. 4.5 stars
I stay at this hotel once a month while in Folsom on business. You know what to expect with Courtyard's but the staff here are all incredible and they make this place really great. From the housekeeping staff to the wait staff at the grill to the front desk, all are super friendly and go out of their way to say hi or assist with any need. The grill options have expanded too as has the quality and I really appreciate that Courtyard is nearly a full service hotel and the value is excellent. Also the location is excellent - walking distance to several restaurants and chain stores like whole foods, ulta & fast food options as well. The only current downside is that It's in the process of being renovated and the rooms and fitness center are not done so the rooms are a bit outdated but the beds are great Marriott beds and always pretty comfortable. . Looking forward to seeing all of the renovation work finally being completed. I've tried several other hotels in the Folsom area and I always come back here.
Best choice for simplicity
The location is across the street from a few retail shopping strips including WholeFoods, REI, Best Buy, ...etc. The air-conditioning in the hotel throughout is super awesome on a hot summer day. No premium channels yet so the movie selections are extremely limited. Friendly staff. They charge $10 for parking at their lot.
