In town for a funeral
The hotel isn't the cleanest. The bed cover had built in dirt all over it. They had the smallest tv I've ever seen in a hotel. if you're laying on the bed you have to squint to see it. I am a platinum rewards member so I spend a lot of money at choice properties. This is why I chose this property. As a platinum member we are guaranteed a late 1p.m. checkout. I was there for a funeral and wanted to come back to the hotel to change clothes before leaving for home. (I live out of state) I went to let the front deck clerk that I needed the later checkout and he informed me the owner is not very nice about those things and that he would have to call him and get it approved because he was on vacation. He called the owner while I stood there and told him my request and why I needed the extra time. The owner said he didn't care that I was a platinum member and that if I wasn't out by 11 the next morning I would be charged again for another night for extra time. This was very disrespectful to a Choice rewards member especially for the unfortunate situation of why I was in town in the first place. I will not stay here again. There are better choices in Fort Payne. Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express would be my suggestion.
Great stay
My husband, granddaughter and I stopped on our way to Chattanooga for an overnight stay. Their rates are very reasonable. Not a lot of fluff a frills but we all had a great nights sleep! Didn’t see the staff much because we were a late arrival and early risers. Very clean. Would recommend. Would stay again.
What a Wonderful Hotel
Arrival to departure everything was first class. We had a handicap room. Decor was lovely and fresh. We had two comfortable chairs which we rarely experience in any hotel. Breakfast was generous, well stocked and delicious. Coffee was fabulous! The breakfast area was meticulously clean as was our room and the rest of the property. Kudos to the owner!
Great Stop
We have been on the road for a week and this one of the nicer motels we found. We were able to check in at 3, which was helpful for us. Our room was well appointed and had comfortable pillows and bedding. Breakfast was standard fare. It was an all around great stay but the young man at the front desk was the best. Josh was very personable, friendly and helpful. If only there were more like him. The only negative thing to say was the toilet whined when it was flushed.
Avoid this place at all costs
The TV didn't work; there was a cigarette burn (in a non smoking hotel) on the bedspread, which didn't look very clean, you aren't allowed to bring your breakfast back to your room without being fined for doing so; the bathroom light took forever to light up; the bathroom door is difficult to close; the temperature on the air conditioner isn't correct, you have to set it to 60 to get it close to being 70 degrees; there are cobwebs in the corner; etc.
