Couldn't be better

From the friendly efficiency of the young woman who checked us in at the front desk to the hot breakfast the next morning, everything at this hotel was great. We were able to park right outside the door to our room for easy unloading. The room had updated furnishings, a very comfortable king bed with quality bedding, fridge with a small freezer compartment, microwave, hairdryer, toiletries, a jetted tub, nice shower and plenty of nice sparkling white towels. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and sausage patties, in addition to waffles and the usual breakfast fare. All this for only $65. The next time we need to stay in Fort Stockton, it will be at this Quality Inn.

Arrogant Hotel Clerk Will Scold You

Reviewed 25 august, 2021

We stayed at the Ft Stockton Quality Inn in April 2021. The hotel clerk, Mr. Dominic Fuentes, spent five minutes lecturing us on "covid protocols" and giving us medical advice in the most arrogant (and incorrect) manner imaginable. He also spent a great deal of time explaining (again, incorrectly) the primer targets of the polymerase chain reaction amplification process in an effort to convince us that we were all about to die at any moment. If you don't want hysterical, minimum wage hotel clerks preaching at your family and posing as your family doctor and immunologist, don't stay at this hotel.

Great hotel

Super location of I-10 but QUIET. Comfortable bed and recently updated room furnishings. Even a whirlpool tub! MW and fridge are nice. Lounge chair is comfy. Door to bathroom is a bit misplaced. Pick your own Breakfast items are nice during Covid restrictions.

Base camp for Big Bend NP

This review may not reflect the true value of the hotel while traveling under the COVID-19 umbrella. Because of COVID-19, some of the hotel services were suspended. Specifically breakfast and room service. I understand the need for healthy hospitality but, the way it was being sold by the hotel management could be interpreted as a way of saving money. The room itself was nice spacious and newly remodeled. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. ( to be careful with the smooth and slippery tiles placed in the bathroom) There were certain things that I did not notice until after we had settled into the room. There was no Kleenex available, only an empty box in the dispenser. The other one was a lack of toilet paper. The dispenser was holding what I believe to be about a quarter of a used role and no replacement. I had to go to the front desk to ask for both of these items. The other disappointing amenity was the suspension of breakfast. Instead of trying to find a substitute for breakfast, such as a to go bag, they opted for serving cereal and coffee only. If anyone out there is involved in the health industry, you will recognize that this substitute of just serving cereal and coffee is not a good healthy measure. There is still a gathering point where plates napkins spoons and general access to the breakfast area is still visited by people that may or may not have the virus. Also the breakfast area was still open to the hotel guests, which does not encourage distancing as advised by the CDC. The solution to this problem is very simple, it’s a to go bag. Many hotels that I stayed at offer this As a healthy substitute which would effectively close down the dining area and preventing the spread of C 19. As far as the property itself, the rooms have been remodeled and they look nice, but the short walk from my room to the front desk shows you that the place is a dump. Walkways and patio areas look filthy And greasy. The outside walls of the hotel look like they are crumbling. And the rear access door to the front desk Is where they were storing carts and garbage. Don’t get me wrong the hotel has potential, but they still need to do a lot more work in order to make it presentable.

The bathroom was new and spotlessly clean....but.

This is a small town hotel that could use some help in its customer service as well as updating the property. The man who checked me in was surly and not helpful. No customer service training here. Just give him the information and go your way. Not even a thank you. The room had a brand new bathroom, clean and spotless. Linens in the bath were quite nice. The bed linens and mattress were clean and comfortable which made for good sleeping. The small sofa was very old, very used and thread bare. Sitting here was not happening. Now, the carpet was something to behold. It was filthy. I have not seen a hotel carpet this dirty...ever. And I travel for my job. This was a 'keep your shoes on at all times' carpet. I was so tired I could not get the strength to ask for another room. Until their refurbishment gets to this room (or rooms), I would ask before booking have the carpets been replaced???
