Platinum Elite Means Nothing if …

Platinum Elite. Booked my stay with points. I have lots. The day before arrival I was sent an email offering upgrades. I had two rooms. Check in is at 2PM, however I was excited that we had both rooms by 10! We arrived around 1130. Immediately the clerk who had the personality of Salome one who didn’t think we should be there said NO UPGRADES. But they offered them. And I spoke with them twice before arriving. Got our keys. They put my daughter and me in rooms diametrically opposite each other. We were both by the stairs (Two females). The sofa was was very worn. The bathrooms needed update. When I showered in my room, before the shower was over water was up to my knees. The drain was not plugged by the stopper. In my daughter’s room the package of soap had been opened. The bottles of shampoo and hair shampoo on the shampoo were empty. One bottle was broken. I went back down too the desk before we used the rooms and said we could wait until better rooms were available. We were told that there were no rooms. But they had offered and I responded immediately that I did want an upgrade. The premise seems to be these days that if you use points you get no upgrade. I was actually told that at a Marriott in Florida! And I do not doubt that this hotel had the same standard. The attitude of the two people at the front desk was unhelpful and I dont care if you are satisfied or not. Marriott properties are all we use unless we happen to be in a place where none are available. I will return to the area again but I will NOT consider this hotel. Totally disappointed that my loyalty counted for nothing. Could hear people talking in the stairwell. Was not addressed as an elite member.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel prior to getting into our beach house rental. The hotel staff was very friendly and service oriented. The hotel is relatively new with covered parking. We enjoyed our stay very much. Several restraints are within walking distance. Asiago skillet was our favorite breakfast place.

Not bad-The 20 somethings who were checking were very rude- Felt sorry for the reservations crew-Rude to us, also. (60's something). Nice pathway to the beach-Had to drive to dinner (AJ'S) - no sidewalks- Ice machine was on the fritz- had to ask people in the cafe for ice-had a great room, clean, but whoever did their plumbing needs to get glasses-everything was crooked in the shower. Would I stay again- yes but would go back to FWB- too much traffic

Very tiny rooms filled with brown, pressed board storage, tables, and the such (no trees were harmed in the design of these rooms); flashback from the 60s, but not in a good way. Extremely small window for beach view. Long, green building (seems abandoned) between beach and hotel adding an uglier site to an already horrible site from the third floor to a large, overflown dumpster easily seen from the small window in the room. Stewby's might be at a walking distance if you are in decent shape and have the time to walk, but guests are not facilitated the walk with pathways or sidewalks; basically you are fighting traffic and have to go through an unsightly way to get to the closest restaurant, Stewby's. You are better off driving elsewhere to eat. The beds the hotel calls "king" are really queens. We had to call twice to have sheets changed bc they were dirty (photo below); finally someone brought a clean one upstairs to us. The "heated" pool is not. It is coolish, or barely warm and the pool is not large enough for more than one family. The gym's ac was not working properly and only two people at a time are permitted (extremely small with only five machines and a rack of weights). We paid extra to have breakfast at the hotel, but obviously it's not automatically entered into the system since our desk lady had to give us a physical pass with the date to present to the barrista, but neglected to give us one for one of the mornings and we had to go back to the front desk before ordering. To get to the beach you have to go through the pool, by the ugly green building, and more before you hit the sands. In all, this place reminds me of a low-budget, apartment complex. There was one bright point: breakfast! The morning people really take pride. The coffees (Starbuck's) were amazing. The breakfast were pretty impressive and the eggs were so beautiful and perfect that they looked happy (I had to take a photo, see below). Because of our glorious breakfasts and coffees, and the fact that the booking-and-check out app made things so amazingly easy for us, I am giving this Hotel two stars. The reason their photos seem partial, is because that's really where the space ends (be it the pool or the gym). Much smaller in person for sure.
Great hotel on the beach!

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at this Courtyard. I wasn’t expecting much, because the price was great, but the property itself, as well as the staff was fantastic. The property itself was nice, clean, and very well maintained. The staff was nice, attentive, and professional. I appreciated the Skywalk to the pool and beach. The pool is nice and has a great sno-cone / bar adjacent with an amazing bartender. A little disappointing that there are no balconies (almost like they didn’t realize they were on the beach when they designed it), but a fantastic property nonetheless. We will definitely be back soon and often!
