Overpriced dated and tired hotel. Only stayed as it was opposite train station.

Superior rooms were clean and pleasantly done out with comfortable bed and nice bathroom, although shower not hot enough. The hotel overall though is pretty shabby and tired. The whole thing needs completely refurbishing. The restaurant is like stepping back into the 70s and although the two reception areas are nice enough, the reception (first thing you see when you walk in) just looks like a youth hostel. The toiletries are a bit lacking and it’s annoying being nagged on email to ‘book’ a breakfast table in their ‘busy’ restaurant, which is reality is practically empty. Breakfast was so so.
NO HOT WATER

We have just had a break here, from 18th October to 22nd, horrible, rooms ok but cold. No hot water for the whole stay, came on the morning we were leaving. Would have thought hot water a basic requirement ! Also evening meal although varied arrived at the table cold, would not stay here again, couldn’t wait to get home for a hot shower. On reporting this to reception, response was we are working on it, day before we were due to leave they said we could stay in there sister hotel the Ben Nevis and the ferry all of us on our coach trip back to them for meals, what a joke.
5 day break

We stayed at this hotel on a coach tour with Strathmore travel. The driver was excellent very informative and helpful. On arriving we were given our keys to our room this was on the fourth floor I had asked for an adapted room. The girl explained there would be one available the next day and they would help us move our luggage. The room was clean well laid out with a walk in shower . The meals were on a set time 6:30pm for us, the dinning room was huge and very busy the staff looked rushed of there feet trying to serve everyone. Breakfast was set at 8:15 and again very busy this was a buffet style breakfast this was good with a nice choice. Overall the dinners weren't to my liking as I felt the choice was limited for me then I'm a really fussy and everyone else seemed to like it. The hotel is old creaky and worn in places but it adds character. The staff were were friendly and very helpful as it can't be easy looking after so many people . Hand gels were available all over the hotel and I saw staff using these regularly and all wore face masks.
Excellent touring base

We stayed in this hotel for a week as part of a coach tour, and used it as our base for the week. The hotel is located in the centre of Fort William and the rooms and facilities were very good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Covid regs were a bit of a pain but totally understandable.
