great location
We love staying at Alofts when we travel. Have stayed at a few over the past few years and this one was our favorite. Entire staff is friendly and helpful. Will be back again on our next trip to the springs
new and clean decent hotel
Location is 6-8 minutes off I 75 and behind a town center area with many shops and restaurants. Student apartments behind hotel but no noise issues at all. Free parking lounge and restaurants closed due to covid. Rooms are narrow and comfy, shower has very low water pressure so do not expect a nice shower. No tub in rooms. Pets welcome not sure of an added fee. Pool located on property. I am not a fan of the new smaller european type hotels this is modeled after. It is fine for a quick stay at most.
Needs to Improve Guest Experience
Recently booked this hotel for the location of where my work training was. The price per night was good, but maybe issues I had during my stay were the reason for the pricing. The check in was quick and efficient. The front desk attendant was polite and very friendly. Due to being busy with work, I failed to inspect the room right away. What I did notice right away was that the second floor hallway carpets were not vacuumed and there was dirt all over. It wasn’t until the late evening that I brought home some refrigerator items for the week (which I was advised the rooms had one) to find that my room did not have one under the sink like my fellow coworkers. I attempted to contact the front desk to request one only to find that my room phone was not plugged in. I plugged the phone in, which immediately activated the speaker phone. I hit the “front desk” button and it just rang with no answer. I tried to hang up, but the phone was broken to the point that the only way to hang up the call is to unplug it completely. I walked down to the lobby and the evening desk attendant was very polite and helpful. She said she would be able to store my cold goods in the hotel refrigerator until the “engineer” arrived at work the following morning. I also advised her that my phone was not operable and she took note of it. That same night I settled into bed, only to find long women’s hair on the pillows. (Assuming the sheets were not changed from the previous guest). The next morning I went to use the in room coffee machine to find that the cups (which are usually individually wrapped) to have small amounts of water already in them. I was unable to use the coffee maker that morning because I was not sure if they were from the previous guest. Leaving for work the second day, I put some of the used towels on the floor for the housekeeper to swap them out. I returned back the evening and ALL my towels (clean and dirty) were removed from my room and they never replaced them. I attempted to call the front desk, but my phone still was fixed. I had to go back down to the lobby and get towels. The next morning I approached the front desk again to explain my concerns I have been experiencing. Again she was apologetic and professional. She offered to change my room, but I just explained I needed a thorough cleaning and replacement of the dirty items. Plus due to my hectic work schedule, moving rooms would be a huge inconvenience. I understand that this all occurred during the COVID-19 time, but I was never once alerted that complete house keeping wouldn’t be occurring. I was advised after that the housekeepers are not supposed to enter the rooms during guest stays, but if that was the case why would they remove ALL my towels. The phone was never fixed before I checked out and the same dirt from 4 days prior was still collecting in the hallway carports. If staying in the near future make sure you stock up on towels, coffee cups (if you make coffee), check the sheets to make sure they were completely changed from the prior guest, and check all the listed in room accommodations are there, make sure your in room phone works. The concept of this hotel is new and esthetically looks appealing. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. I don’t know if the hotel just opened but they need to work out some kinks on guest experience.
Good Spot
The Aloft is a newish property near Archer Rd shopping. The location is pretty decent but surrounded by mostly student apartments. Check-in was smooth and rooms were ready as requested. The bedsheet has a stain and some of the towels were frayed but overall everything was in working order. I wish hotels would have soft close on the room doors to account to fellow guests who let the door slam. Overall, a good hotel in a very good location.
