Charming Historic Getaway

My wife and I stayed at the Galena Inn for a long weekend. Loved the charm and history of the building. The innkeepers were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Our room was spacious and had all the conveniences necessary for the perfect getaway. Breakfast was always unique and delicious with complimentary mimosas. Location was convenient to downtown Galena. We’re looking forward to our next stay.

The information on their website is misleading and untrue. We booked a room in this B and B Inn with the full expectation we would be staying in the historical Galena Inn with the full promise of a provided breakfast. I received a call 3 nights before our arrival informing me due to staffing challenges we would be upgraded to a suite. I questioned why and was there a problem and assured there was not. However, Kerrie explained also there would not be any breakfast service either. I queried again if there were problems and told no When we arrived the Galena inn was in total darkness, trash bins sitting at the drive entrance and not a single car or person was on the property. We felt that perhaps there WAS a problem. Our instructions for the suite directed us to the garage at the back of the Inn. What we determined was this particular accommodation was an AirBnB. The accommodation had a small refrigerator that had the door left open and had frozen over. The window air conditioner wasn’t on and once we checked the nasty filter we left it off. The property was completely darkened and we felt like intruders. We called Kerrie about this whole misrepresentation and she essentially ignored our concerns. This experience could have been avoided if only their website stated the truth.

Perfect inn for a weekend getaway

My husband and I had a fun weekend getaway to Galena. We really enjoyed our stay at the Galena Inn.The location is great and if you don’t mind a lot of stairs, it’s a quick walk to the historic downtown area. The inn keeper, Kerrie, was a wonderful host. The inn was beautifully decorated with a mix of antique and modern that worked well together. After a busy day exploring the area, the inn was a great place to land. We enjoyed a bottle of wine we picked up that day on the porch in the evening. So peaceful and relaxing. Our room was comfortable as it was pretty - bed comfy, sheets soft and the towels plush. And, the morning breakfasts were delicious. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in Galena.

Talk about rude ownership. I would rather stay in the dumpster than stay here. For such a beautiful town this decrepit building matches the owners attitudes. Photos make the rooms look way better than they actually are.

Staff is un helpfully and owners are rude There are so many other options in the area I would find a place to stay that is actually in the hospitality business The rooms are not has nice as the edit photos and if u r looking for cool rooms in the hot weather look Elsewhere We found that even though the staff say the air unit is new they are not
