Horrible Experience
Went into our room after check in and the beds were not made and stained, the floors were full of dirt, the restroom was still dirty, basically no one went in to clean it after whoever else stayed there before us. We went to the receptionist and asked for a different room, but they were fully booked. We asked for a refund over and over and we didn’t get one. Instead she said she would go and clean it “real quick.” First of all, check in was at 3pm, it was already 12 am, so the room should have been cleaned a long time ago. Second, we were extremely tired and ready to go to bed, not wait on someone to clean the room that should have already been ready. Lastly, if you’re going to clean this room “real quick” then I most definitely don’t want to stay in it. We asked for a refund and we’re declined one because the manager was not in. The manager, Dee said she would call us back the next morning at 9am. Fine, we will wait. Well it is now 8pm the next day and we still have not got a call back. This is completely unacceptable and horrible customer service. With COVID, rooms should be clean and sanitized. We didn’t end up staying and had to drive home and still have not received a refund. I do not recommend this place at all.
Poor customer service!!!
I booked this room AFTER confirming that they had rooms available. I drove all the way from HOUSTON with my infant son. Upon arrival, I was advised that they couldn’t rent a room to me AFTER paying, driving over an hour, & confirming that they had rooms available. I called to speak to NATE to let him know what my issue was, I was hung up on. When calling back, he told me that the OWNER said to hang up on me! These people have taken my money, wasted my time, & have provided me with HORRIBLE customer service. After sleeping in the car with my infant son in the cold, the VERY LEAST they can do is reimburse me my money & offer me a credit or SOMETHING! But no, these people are CROOKED & RUDE! NEVER in my life have I EVER experienced such HORRIBLE customer service from a hotel. Having been in the service industry for many years, I find this COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!
Just nasty
We stayed two nights here, and it was two nights too long. The only good thing was that it was quiet. First thing you notice is the smell, it’s musty. When we got to our room, my husband saw spots on the bed cover. We didn’t know what it was, don’t even want to guess, so we stripped it off the bed. The blanket underneath had a huge tear in it. It was in pretty bad condition. The last morning we were there, I needed a couple things at reception (extra creamer for coffee, some plastic ware). I came down at 9:30 am, no one was around. I rang the bell four times before the lady from reception finally woke up from where she was sleeping in the lobby area! Later, we needed a late checkout because of a conference call, and she would not answer the phone. Finally, my husband went downstairs to talk with the lady and arranged it all. Now that we’re back to doing some traveling for business, it’s shocking what has become acceptable in many hotels. I’m truly surprised at the positive reviews in the last few places we’ve stayed, this one included. Either people’s standards are really low, or some of the reviews aren’t real. Be aware!
No water pressure, used bandaid in bed, and bugs
My family and I went here for spring break. The people that worked there were friendly. It’s a good location. However when we got to our room we found a used bandaid in our bed. There was a roach running across the floor at breakfast where food was served. When looking in the drawers for a cup for coffee at breakfast more bugs were in the drawer. Also, there is no water pressure in the shower. It was very hard to clean long hair and sand out of your hair and off your body. This was our experience. Would not recommend.
Great stay, Clean and Convenient
The hotel was easy to find, the check in was friendly and the desk clerk was helpful. There is plenty of parking available at the hotel. There was a weird smell in the lobby when we entered but we never addressed it. We had a large suite which was clean and comfortable. We slept well and the hotel was quiet. There was a large breakfast area. The laundry area was clean and convenient. We needed to use the “business center” to print a document being sent from home and we found that the computer was out of order and there was not a printer available. The WiFI was a little slow in our room, but we made do with what was available. The breakfast here needs some improvement. The only good thing was the “Texas” shaped waffle. However, there was only one waffle maker and there was a line up for it because there was a lot of people each morning trying to get breakfast. There were no bagels – only slices of bread. The rest of the breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, which were not good, and a rubbery sausage. Then there was the coffee, which no matter which pot, or what time of day, was actually the worst tasting coffee ever. Even other guests made a comment about it in the elevator as we were going back up to our room. We would stay here again if we come back to Galveston. Overall it was a clean, comfortable stay and met our needs. We just may pack some quick breakfast items and skip the breakfast downstairs.
