Plenty of room for improvement
This hotel has some very good point; the staff are generally very friendly and helpful, the room was very modern and the COVID-19 regulations were strongly enforced. However, the food in the restaurant was very poor. Very limited choice and the available dishes were mainly frozen. I ordered the fillet steak and side veg, the steak was average and the ‘veg’ had a soggy, sad and stale appearance . The secure car park wasn’t that secure as our van was broken into. The hotel maintain that they have CCTV in the car park but unfortunately it doesn’t cover where our vehicle was parked. The hotel management didn’t follow up on the break in, they just directed us to the police station. As previously mentioned, the room was very modern and had a great view. My only negative in regards to the room is that the tv is way too small for the large rooms offered and would freeze on certain channels for the duration of my stay. To briefly summarise, this has all the makings of a great hotel. It just needs to brush up on certain elements, especially the food. I’m looking forward to seeing how the hotel is doing in the future.
Average hotel, not the best location
Hotel is a bit of a walk from everything. I don't mind walking but it's really not a pleasant walk - a lot of rubbish everywhere and infested with rats. The room itself was spacious enough although does need a good lick of paint as there were stains on walls in the bathroom and the room itself. When we arrived there was an empty food tray directly outside our room door and a bag with dirty linens. We have moved them to the side but that wasn't cleaned for 3 days - totally unacceptable. Breakfast was fine but it wasn't of a high quality or variety. When we stored out bags we were never give a ticket so when it came to picking them up, the other receptionist was a bit hesitant - no consistency. Would I stay here again? Definitely not, but I'm not planning to be coming back to Genoa - not a nice city at all.
Solid city hotel with few flaws
We spent two nights at this hotel. The first room we got was a room with a bad view and the room smelled like cigarette smoke, even though it was a non smoking room. We immediately complained nicely and got a better room, as we were transferred anyways from another hotel that we had booked instead. The room made a normal and clean impression on us with no unnecessary luxury. However, the receptionists were all very kind and professional with great English skills. The breakfast covid-19 organization was solid and acceptable. The actual food was also okay. The location of that hotel is very good, however the parking is very challenging. Even though there are two parking areas, space is a problem especially entering the parking garage. So if you have a bigger car, be prepared to struggle. It was overall a solid experience.
Well located option in Genova
I stayed in this hotel for two weeks on a business trip and it was very good. The infra-structure inside the room for doing home office is excellent, there's the possibility to heat water and prepare coffee, the shower is excellent, the bed is one of the most comfortable I have experienced, breakfast and restaurant are ok. There also nice options in the surroundings, such as the "La grotte del Principe" restaurant, where the owners are most lovely and the cost-benefit is very good. The staff at the hotel is super friendly and always ready to help with suggestions or if something is missing in your room. I used the laundry service and it was also fast and very careful with my clothes, excellent.
