More about the hotel
Stay away!
One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Front desk and check in was pleasant. We booked 2 rooms, 1 room was "clean" however there were dirty towels with what seemed blood or could have been lipstick but I was not going to check. Room was old and outdated, furniture is falling apart. 2nd room was even worse! Bed was made however you could tell the sheets/blankets were not changed from previous people. Socks and clothes on floor, not ours!! Absolutely filthy. Never again!
Never again!!
Stayed 3 nights, lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful. Room was ok, rug needs replaced, small pillows. I check out, a few hours later I go to get gas and my card was declined. I checked my bank and this hotel took $55 out without me knowing!!! I called, not happy, and she said her manager told her to do it, claiming I burned a hole in the bed cover. WHAT??? This cover had holes in it already AND, I don't smoke on the bed!!! I was PISSED!!! And I will be fighting this!! Already called my bank to stop payment. But the nerve of this manager to just make charges on people's card with ZERO NOTICE is un professional! I will NEVER stay at this, or any other Economic Lodge!!!!
Not a Pleasant Stay
I stayed in room 221 which is on the outside part of the building. The walkway was slightly slanted and uncomfortable to walk on. The room was aged, the fridge and microwave were just set out against a wall and the carpet was ragged. After my first night, I returned and found that although the bed was made, it was made with huge wrinkles left in it. I left a tip, hoping for better service the next day but it was the same when I returned, wrinkled bed, waste bucket liners just placed in and not tucked down, etc. The coffee maker took over 30 minutes to make a single cup of coffee. I asked for a new coffee maker and I left a note asking for a different coffee maker and was not given on. So, for 3 days I had 3 cups of coffee. The "continental breakfast" was poor. There was no protein and it was all sugar, donuts and cereal. Not even any yogurt. The outside "grill area" is not a grill area by any stretch of the imagination. It's on the grass median between the hotel and the Shipley's donut shop next door and it's just a couple of grills in poor shape (see photos).
Money trap
This place is a money trap. I have been staying here for year and never ask to pay 50.00 for incedentals. I was told by the front desk clerk which was in training and was left alone that the room was immaculate. It is far from that paint peeling off walls and doors . The recliner had paint and old food stains on it. I have stayed at a motel 6 that was 10 times better than this hotel and don't try to drain you of money. Looks like they have charged slot of people for damage and sure are not using they money to fix the rooms. I will make sure that my company will never stay here ever again.
Would Have No Problem Staying Here Again
My husband and I were put into room 121. It was a nice sized room. The sink was in an open alcove at the end of the bedroom. The bathroom was small. It had a tub/shower combination. Evertyhing was very clean, which is important to me. The towels and bed linens were sparkly clean and the bed was comfortable. Besides the bed, it had a recliner, desk, dresser, table and two chairs, flat screen TV ( a little fuzzy), microwave, fridge, iron and board, hair dryer and free WiFi. There was a small charging station on the nightstand. Breakfast was okay....enough to start your day, but I was a little disappointed that mostly only carbs were offered. Breakfast consisted of: Belgian waffles, two kinds of bagels, 2 kinds of bread for toasting, 2 types of sweet cake, 2 dry cereals, regular coffee, orange juice and milk. The room was small, having 5 tables for 4. It was not busy when we were there, so seating was not a problem. It was very clean. The staff was friendly, it was quiet and easy to get to from the highway and there was a Jack In The Box (some sort of restaurant) right next door. I would have no problem staying here again.
