what a view!

This was a very homey place to stay. Convenient, as we could park just around the corner (parking spaces a premium here!) Host spoke little English, but fine, as we speak a passable Italian. He led us to Ristorante A Squella for a lovely lunch when we arrived. Nice breakfast, gorgeous view & lots of books about the region to browse through.

The perfect B&B

We wanted to stay in Gerace - a wonderful and special place to visit - and found Casa Ferrari on the day having called Valeria an hour before. She was so welcoming and the room was spacious with a lovely balcony looking east over the Adriatic from this high town. Giovanni helped us find walks in the Aspromonte mountains and continued the warmth we'd received the night before. This is not a hotel but all the more special for that. You have to try each of Valeria's homemade jams/preserves (we had Quince, Mandarin and Bergamot) at breakfast - they are to die for!

Warm, comfortable stay

Giovanni and Valeria are wonderful hosts. They are both warm and welcoming. The B&B is very comfortable if not sleek and modern. Our room was large with a good bed and the usual hard flat pillows. The bathroom was clean but not special. Views of the coast from the large terrace are spectacular. The breakfast was outstanding, parking easy and the center of town less than a five minute walk. Giovanni gave us excellent suggestions for day trips and restaurants. Excellent value.

Charming B&B with a magnificent view from the terrace

Charming B&B in beautiful Gerace was like a cherry on the top of cake! We had a nice, clean room and possibility to enjoy magnificent views from the terrace during the day and the night. For breakfast we had a range of delicious home-made jams. The couple of owners as well as their friend were extremely helpful and generous. Highly recommended!

Leider teile ich die vielen positiven Bewertung des Casa Ferrari nicht. Die Unterkunft befindet sich sehr nah an der Altstadt - das ist sicher ein Pluspunkt. Und die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber - keine Frage. Es wurde uns zur Begrüßung ein Bier angeboten, für das wir dann 5 Euro zahlen mußten! Das Zimmer war eher ein Abstellzimmer, die Straße davor auch in der Nacht befahren. An einen ruhigen Schlaf war deshalb nicht zu denken. Das Frühstück war für Italien normal - leider kein Croissant, nur Toast. Alles in allem kann auch die schöne Aussicht das nicht wettmachen.
