we had no luck with the weather...
.... and then it s complicated. The little resort is meant to be entertaining with private little beach at a small lake. mini golf, table tennis, in door pool. It is meant; they advertise even for romantic weekends, no idea - maybe under sunshine. Yet there is no WLan except around the reception and the restaurant. The list of menu is very short even á la carte. Yet the region is great and interesting the landscape with man ylakes and the Schloss Boitzenburg not far away is worth a visit.
Quiet and relaxing, not quite soundproof rooms, interesting hotel grounds
We stayed for several days over the summer of 2018. The area is quite remote but the hotel is very self contained. The rooms were all separated into different blocks. The grounds were very interesting. There were sheep on the premises, there was a giant storks (?) nest and ponies. (*u*). There was also a building with a heated swimming pool. There were plenty of apple and pear trees that had borne fruit when we were there as well. There was also something like miniature golf course behind the hotel. Coming from Asia, I did not expect the same level of hospitality or service so I wasn't disappointed, as the hotel doesn't have a lot of staff on premises, neither were they as attentive, which could be because they may not have speak English well and Asian guests were probably not that common in this area. As for the rooms, they were quite dated and looked like your grandmother's place in the 1950s, all florals and light colored wood. You can hear the neighbours so the walls aren't quite soundproof. Overall, I found it very interesting place to stay. Oh, there's no wifi... so for people who are addicted to their gadgets, this is probably not a good place. But if you wish to unplug, this would be great.
OK, but not better
I stayed for just one night, came in late and left rather early. The room was OK, as was the grounds. No WIFI except in the main building. They have an evening buffet that seems nice. As I came app. 30 minutes before closing time they were out of parts of the food, and I finished some other part. Breakfast was better
More than a hotel
Another great choice, seems to be miles from anywhere yet easy to get to and find set in it's own grounds this is more than just a hotel. Buildings are very easy on the eye, rooms are large and comfy (but again the German twin beds) in the main building but other options are available in the smaller buildings. Good food with drinks at very keen prices even though there is no alternative nearby. The grounds contain paddocks and stables, pitch & putt golf and a health spa and indoor pool.
Great for a day or two getaway in the countryside
The grounds and the area is quiet and relaxing, getting away from everything but of course you would need a car to travel here, it's a bit off the usual travel area. The main building is nice and has been restored quite well, the rooms in the side barn type area are renovated and comfortable. The food was quite good as we ate both breakfast and dinner here as well as having coffee and cake. Staff was friendly but of course mostly German is spoken here but they do of course understand and speak English too. There is a horse arena and riding stables and I would imagine that most visitors are there for horse riding. Also has a small mini-golf area to entertain and pass time.
