Wonderful place to stay. Room was warm and cozy. The Breakfast was out of this world delicious, The Hosts, Joan, Brian and Amy were terrific, could not be more helpful and friendly. The location was within walking distance of shopping and restraunts. Could not ask for a better place to stay

Months ago we made reservations for both the Brafferton and a similar (on paper) location in the Catskills region of NY. They both offered a historic location with modern amenities, a made to order breakfast and a homey, family run atmosphere. In July we had our stay at this other location in the Catskills. Everything about it (except for their pool) was uncomfortable. The way the rules of the house were presented to us, like scolded school children, the building was historic but that does mean it has to dusty and dirty, the furnishings and decor in the shared areas were in desperate need of updating and the breakfast, albeit made to order was without any extra flavors or seasonings. At checkout we snuck away without saying goodbye, afraid of any more interaction than necessary. After this stay we had misgivings about our stay at the Brafferton. Would this be a similar experience? As it turned out this could not be further from the truth. Everything about our stay at the Brafferton was perfect. At check in we were given our instructions in an easy mannered style that put us at ease right away. Breakfast was delicious every morning. In the 4 meals we had every morsel of fruit, breakfast entree or pastry was perfectly picked, cooked, seasoned or baked. Our room(s) were delightful. Much larger than depicted on their website. I say rooms because the Lincoln suite is like a mini apartment, with a large hall leading to a living room, the bedroom, a storage micro/fridge area and a modern spa bathroom. The shared areas of the Brafferton showed off its heritage without looking dated, dusty or dirty. The owners obviously care for their buildings, business and customers. In fact unlike our Catskills stay at checkout here in Gettysburg we chatted some with the owner, even getting a tour of another suite and gave hugs when we left instead of sneaking away. We fully endorse anyone to stay at the Brafferton. Avoid the chains. Go local.

We spent two nights here during our visit to Gettysburg. We were in the Codori Suite. We really loved the attention to detail and amenities provided. The breakfast offered many different choices, and all were delicious. We were even asked if we had any dietary limitations. The proprietors were very helpful and personable. Don’t hesitate to book here, as you won’t be disappointed.

Awesome Stay. Such a beautiful Inn, family owned. Joan, Brian and Amy, just to name a few. All so very nice, and very accommodating. We were so lucky to have stumbled on this Inn last October to make our reservation for October 2021. We have been coming to a Gettysburg for Four years already, staying at different places each time, This Inn was perfect. The Williams Suite was incredible, the pictures don’t do it justice. Two bedrooms, two bath, full kitchen, laundry room, living room, just fantastic. We were so sad it was already booked for 2022. But no problem there are many rooms within the Inn. All beautiful. Amy showed us some other options for two couples. We’re staying again next year, we never book the same place. Breakfast was awesome every morning with at least four dishes to choose from, plus fruit and a danish. We didn’t need to eat lunch with such a great breakfast. Our suite was so clean and beautifully decorated. Parking was right outside our door, with our own entrance. We had such a great time. They even had bath salts for the bathtub. Which was amazing to relax in after walking all day. The skylights were also another wonderful touch, they woke us gently in the morning. Thank you for making our stay perfect. I almost didn’t write this review because I wanted to keep it a secret!

We stayed FOUR nights: Thursday 16 Sept to Monday 20 Sept. LOCATION – a block from the town circle, and a short ride to all activities. To unload/load there is a parking spot conveniently right in front of the Inn and they own a parking lot a block away for overnight parking. – GREAT! ACCOMMODATIONS – I and two friends (husband & wife) stayed in the Cordori Suite which has one large bedroom with an ADA compliant bathroom, which was GREAT for the wife who uses a wheelchair. The living room had a sleep sofa which was good for me with a door to separate the two rooms for privacy at night. There was also a second full bathroom for me. This arrangement allowed us to stay together, which was our goal. BREAKFAST – unbelievably GREAT! You receive a menu with four meal options with the flexibility to modify to your taste. Fresh fruit bowl, freshly baked pastry, eggs that are delivery weekly direct from the local farmer. You never leave hungry, and service is always top notch, professional, and friendly. INNKEEPERS – Joan (mom), Brian (son), Amy (Brian’s wife) treat you like family and VIPs all at the same time. No question goes unanswered, no request is unfulfilled. The BEST Host ever! This was a SPECIAL place where we got SPECIAL treatment which made our trip SPECIAL. Thank you for all you did for us and all your guest.
