It's small hotel in the center, really close to the beach (just few steps) with kind staff. There are night clubs near the hotel, so don't go there if you want to relax and sleep :) Breakfest is terrible!
Nice Place with All You Need
Hotel location is great: close to the beach, bus station, restaurants. Wi-fi - excellent. We stayed on ground floor, so no view, but with a big terrace. The hotel is clean, towels and sheets regularly replaced. The room has everything you need, we even had a small kitchenette. The hosts aren't very talkative, but helpful and efficient. Upon arrival we had some problem with the toilet, which we resolved the following morning. We asked for a hairdryer, got one the next day. So anything you need, will be resolved in a relaxed manner, but take into consideration that staff is present during very limited hours of the day. Breakfast is alright, but there is a shortage of fruit and vegetables. Nothing exceptional, but still a nice place to stay.
Nice clean & close to beach
We went there for 8 days as part of our Sicily trip. The hotel room was clean with kitchen and dining area. The breakfast was good with great espresso. On the first day we came in earlier before check in and the owner offered breakfast which was a nice gesture. The hotel is very close to the walking area and beach as well as to the bus station for Taormina.
Nice apartment, cold water and watch your account
We stayed 5 nights in the top floor apartment, May 7th to 12th 2017. The apartment is very nice, the view magnificent and cleaning impeccable. However the hot water supply was absolutely insufficient, and cold showers are not on my list of holiday pleasures. The WiFi was not stable, and we had to open the door to connect. Before the holiday I had a bad experience with the hotel abusing my credit card account, and I can see from at least one other review that others have experienced the same. Here are the facts: I booked through booking.com for 5 nights for a price of 625 € to be paid during our stay. A lower price was possible, but I wanted to be able to cancel at a late date. Jan. 19th the hotel withdrew 625 € from my account, and Feb. 12th they repeated the stunt. That is twice the amount and months before the rent was due. I complained to booking.com, and from my perspective they handled the matter professionally, but when the money wasn't returned after 17 working days (late March), I asked the bank to return the money and informed booking.com that the matter, which I now considered as fraud, would be turned over to the police. Booking.com reacted promptly by returning the 1250 €, and that settled the matter for me, except that I had lost about 45 € due to the bank's exchange rate (selling/buying Euro). I guess I expected some kind of apology during our stay, but nothing was said or done - it was as if nothing had happened. When I paid the bill (625 + 15 € tourist tax), the total amount was 650. I asked how 625 + 15 adds up to 650, and the amount was adjusted to 640. Had the circumstances been different, I would have dismissed it as a simple error, but now I am biased. Whatever you think of the facts is up to you, but if you don't mind cold showers, my advice is to keep a watch on your account.
Kalaskiso hotel – or Rosanna and Giuseppe, a Sicilian family very hospitable
Pozitiv: 1.Hospitality - a wonderful Sicilian family, Giuseppe and Rosanna, who do their best to make visitors feel as well, to mediate and book any trip or private transport, to solve any problem. 2.The hotel's location: - very close to the largest sandy beach of Giardini, the local bus station (within 50 meters in front of the National Bank) for Taormina, Issolla Bella, Letojani - very close to the lively center of town, with terraces, restaurants, shops; - very close to the specialized shops - the famous “SALUMERIA, GASTRONOMIA”, where you can buy fish and hot dishes from fish, meat specialties - salamis, prosciutto crudo, etc. - a conveniently placed against of the bus stations or Via Dalmazia Recanatti to Catania and Fontanarossa airport (about 800 meters from any of them); from Recanatti station leave coaches for most trips that are organized by the Interbus, ETNA, SAT, etc. 3. the wonderful view to the port full of boats, yachts and ships, to the turquoise sea from which the sun rises every morning an increasingly bright 4. the cleanliness, throughout the hotel, the entire period of stay 5. Sicilians ability to provide high quality tourism services, which explains the large number of tourists Thank you, Rosanna, for your hospitality, kindness and surprises offered Negativ: The fact that is permitted the circulation of road vehicles (even if only one-way) along Via Stromboli, where the hotel is located, which forces you to get on the stairs or to cleave / attach the walls to avoid passing vehicles; is right, most vehicles waiting to find yourself a safe position, but what can be done a person with a degree of motric disability or who travels in a special trolley for disabled? For pedestrians is not - and can not be imposed a unidirectional movement, so how to proceed in case of an invalid who move/travel in special cart for disabled persons, in opposite direction with vehicles? The vehicles go back, to return to the main street?
