Very Pleasant Three Week Stay
I had a great three weeks stay here for a work trip! The rooms are nice, spacious, and have a convenient configuration. I loved the large couch, which was perfect for having a friend over to watch the Super Bowl. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Mitch was kind to make sure there was hot chocolate out at the coffee bar, which was essential for my morning coffee. Any issue that popped up during my time was handled quickly. Also, the hotel is in the same block as a grocery store, and a 20 min drive from the William Sonoma, Design Within Reach, and Restoration Hardware Outlets! I loved the little touch having a large jar of Chupa Chups out-those became my evening desserts. My only constructive feedback is: -If you have a gluten allergy, like myself, you may want to make other accommodations for breakfast. But that was a very minor inconvenience in-light of how wonderful the staff is. -The microwaves in the room are small. So small, you can't pop a whole bag of popcorn without it getting stuck and burning. I would highly recommend staying here!
Very Clean and Safe
Stayed here for two nights. Convenient location just north of town near Route 1. Three miles from beach. Easy to find and access by car. Plenty of parking. Exterior well lit at night. Very clean. Everything in room worked. Stylish interior with ocean themes in common areas. Very professional entry staff. Although the parking lot was full, the interior was not crowded and it felt very safe from a COVID perspective. Seemed to be very well managed. This was my first time in a Springhill Suites. I will definitely return.
Great hotel
Stayed here with family. Nice new hotel that was very clean. Great oversize rooms with a good price. Convenient location to Vero beach and all that it has to offer. Free parking. Will definitely stay here when back in the area.
Poor housekeeping, inexcusable response by management
I checked in to a room with an unflushed toilet, garbage in the shower, and other indications of poor housekeeping. I asked for a call from the manager, and never heard from them. I've stayed here many weeks in the past, but I'll never stay here again.
Odious, Cantankerous, Lying Witch General Manager! No offense to witches
Have stayed at this Springhill 6 times before, previously recommended it to business associates coming to the area. GENERAL MANAGER, KRIS, lies about availability! Stayed 1 night, asked Kris, GM 9 a.m. for late checkout. Her ABRUPT and RUDE response: "Can't do it, we're 100% sold out." Me: What about for titanium guests? Rude Kris: "I don't care who comes here, we're completely sold out. Me: I believe you are allowed to permit titanium and platinum guests late checkout. Rude Kris: "Sir, get away from my desk, I'm busy". I go up to room, check availability for that night (it's close to where I needed to be early next day) rooms are available at VERY reasonable rate. Call Marriott titanium line, tell representative Jeff what just transpired. He checks availability, tells me they're about 60% sold out. He calls hotel to ask if in fact they are sold out. Gets back to me: Says: "I just spoke with a Kris Macmullen, I don't know if she's the gm but she was abrupt and rude to me." He gets me a late check out, ended up staying again that night. I see Odious, Cantankerous, Lying Witch General Manager Kris in elevator next morning and tell her that I stay over 100 nights a year in hotels and have never witnessed what she tried pulling the previous day. As elevator door opens, she starts screaming: "SIR, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL NOW!" I inform her she is rude, should get some training on how to accommodate guests. She gets louder. SIR, GET OUT OF MY HOTEL NOW. THIS WAS WITNESSED BY A FEW GUESTS, I go back to room, call Marriott titanium to inform them what transpired. A report is filed. Rest of staff is fantastic but not one associate had been there any of the previous times I was there. I did speak with a few associates, all told me the gm is a problem and they don't anticipate staying there much longer as she is difficult to work with. I did speak with another guest while getting coffee. He asked me what the hell was that woman screaming about before? I hope Meredith Pittman can TRAIN or remove Kris from her position as she is a cancer to both Marriott and this Springhill Suites. Back in Vero Beach tonight, but NOT back at the institution that KRIS refers to as "her hotel".
