Close to local amenities, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good sized room and en suite bathroom. Some rooms have a river view. Friendly staff at reception. I appreciated the check out being at noon rather than earlier. Plan to stay again when in Glasgow
Disapointed this time around.

The hotel as always was good. Staff excellent. They did what they could to rectify the situation. Next time we stay, we may use a Superior Room with seperate beds in order to get a better nights sleep. Hopefully these rooms will not have as much noise at night.
AGEIST STAFF . HAIRS IN BATHROOM .

I arrived at roughly 6:30 pm on the 23rd November alone . ARRIVAL : I am about to process the payment for the room to discover cash isn’t aloud even though in the website it states ‘pay at property ‘ ( if I could pay via card I would have but I lost my bank card recently ) I explained my situation That I booked with my mothers card and suggested I could verify that and I sent them her ID and bank card details as requested . All is fine , I check into my room . I am then in the bathroom and discover two long brown hairs on the bath (I am blonde ) and a public hair also . I held off complaining as I am recovering from a surgery which I had done on the day (today ) . The reason I booked the hotel is so that I could have some respite before travelling back to Newcastle , I have been left to feel unwelcome ,uncomfortable and dirty due to the hairs in the bathroom .I later on decide to go to eat in the restaurant which also doesn’t take cash and the lovely lady at the bar said just make sure the card on file can be charged to the room ,she was at least polite and helpful . I make my way to reception to ask to be reminded of my room number (my head is so foggy as I had a surgery today ) and ask if my food could be charged to the card . I then receive a unprofessional response from the male member of staff ‘you are taking the mick here ,we don’t usually do this we are making an exception ‘ . If I knew I couldn’t eat here due to my card situation , they should have told me before they proceeded to process my payment and I would have booked an Airbnb (I usually book Airbnb’s …lesson learned ,but I wanted the connivence and sufficiency of a hotel while recovering ) I told the man that I will eat else where as me asking him for help seemed to be of such in convenience and I did just that , I got a kfc as I couldn’t be bothered to eat out after all the palaver. He did say he is going to sort it before I left but after the awkward abs uncomfortable conversation I told him to just leave it . I would also like to add that I was dressed in just casual wear too ,rather than my best attire which I think is more than reasonable considering I had a surgery but I also think this added to their discrimination of me . I have never left a bad review on any hotel or Airbnb but under this circumstance …I have been forced too. I even was going to let the hairs in the bath slide and just buy some anti-bac wipes as I was here to relax not have any aggravation. I really do not recommend staying here if you are young … look anywhere else ! Will never return which is a shame as I have stayed at the jury’s inn in Newcastle a handful of times which was a positive ,calm and happy experience which is why I booked this one in Glasgow as I thought it would be similar .

Check in was simple, receptionist was lovely. Got to our room on the 4th floor, and looked out of window and saw rail tracks, so we thought it would be quite noisy, but we didnt hear trains at all. The bathroom was nice, and the bed very comfortable. The room was quite big and had an iron, iron board and hairdryer. Hotel is located well for everywhere we wanted to go. Have stayed here a few times before, and have actually booked again for 3 weeks time.
Shame about the bar

Stayed here on Saturday and not up to the standard of previous visits. Check in staff were very pleasant and efficient and the room was spacious and clean. However, after being our for a meal we decided to have a couple of drinks before bed and that's where things went downhill fast. After asking the barman three times for a Drambuie and ice, he looked at me as if I had just landed from another planet. After many minutes of gazing at the gantry, asked me if I could identify it, It would appear that they did not stock it so I opted for a gin and lemonade, no ice, He informed me that they had no gin glasses, would a larger one do? After resolving this issue, he proceeded to fill the glass with ice (no ice was the order). Ice removed he started to add lemonade and when there was enough I asked him to stop, which he did, then for some reason he started again. Over six pounds for this pantomime. There were at least four staff behind the bar, standing around bit tables were neither being cleared or cleaned. Not a pleasant experience or one that indicates Covid protection measures. Disappointed to say the least
