More about the hotel
Confy but dirty
Rooms are good and bed is comfy but the cleaning is awful. Pillow covers were gross and full of stains...not washed regularly and defibately not changed for every guest. Bathroom and shower too, were superficially cleaned (a 18y frat bot would do a better job). That worries me, especially in times of covid!!!
Great location - filthy room
We stayed one night in Glasgow as a stop off further north. The hotel was in a great location and central to everything. Although we weren’t expecting the ritz after the price the room was but we weren’t expecting a filthy bathroom, covered In black mould and broken tiles - was revolting. Also the window was broken and looked like it was taped shut. Looks nothing like the pictures online. Don’t stay!
So bad we checked out
We checkied in for three nights, we got in & it looked fairly decent based on first impressions at reception. Got to my room. Was very basic & stank of tobacco. I used the bathroom & realized there was a massive hole in the bath, there was still dirt on the tap from previous guest and it was pretty dirty. There was coffee rings on the window sills and stains down the walls and drink splashes. We picked up the phone to call reception and WOW it was gross We're in the middle on a pandemic and they can't clean the rooms properly. We told reception to cancel the booking that we're gonna check out but then someone came up to clean but that was too late. So we left and had to get another hotel. Such a bloody inconvenience
Good and bad
When we looked at this hotel it listed private parking amongst it's facilities, which is why we chose it. but this is not so. We had to park in a multi storey car park a couple of streets away although we did get a 25% discount from the hotel. Imran who e-mailed me to confirm booking advised that all the staff wear face masks at all times to protect guests, also not true. The lift had a floor sign stating to keep 2 metre distance, this made us laugh as the lift is not even 2 metres across. Our room was spacious & clean, but the window would not close properly, which meant pigeons roosting right outside our window kept us awake with their cooing. We found the bars & restaurants in this area expensive in comparison to up near Sauchihall Street. There is a pub to the right of Central Station where you can get a lovely meal for £5.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, DISGUSTING
We stayed after a long haul flight and checked in at 1am. We weren’t filled with hope even going up stairs to the room, the corridors were filthy and smelt damp. Upon entry, we had realised they had not given us the room we asked for on booking.com and had to climb over our luggage for the duration of our stay. (1 night out of 3) We left as soon as we woke up due to the state of the room, we tried to leave the same night however the hotel we had booked to stay in instead had to have us wait until 8am so we set an alarm and went after a few hours sleep. The room was filthy. Pubic hairs, dirty pillow cases, broken lights, drink stains on the window sill, dust on every surface and a dirty bathroom. Never have I ever stayed in anything like it, hands down the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. DO NOT GO HERE, there are much nicer hotels in the area and although they might be a few pounds more, it’s absolutely worth doing so as we soon learned. I can’t stress enough that this hotel should be avoided at all costs. The receptionist on the desk the morning we left told us we would be refunded for the two nights we never stayed however we are now facing a dispute with booking.com in order to get the money back. So, if you don’t want to go through the stress I am currently having to deal with after such a horrendous experience, AVOID
