Desperate money grab with $12 parking charge
Reviewed 24 october, 2021
This used to be a really nice property, but cost-cutting seems to be the name of the game even when the hotel is pretty full. Of course, the lead item is the ridiculous $12 parking charge out adjacent to a large mall and a view of the train tracks. Simply a money grab. Accompanying this are a bunch of signs around the hotel and in the elevator describing it over and over again, along with the other services they aren't providing. Since there's no housekeeping, the hallways are filled with bags of trash. Nobody seemed to be doing anything urgent to clean them up. Conclude with a poorly functioning shower coupled with a clogged drain and it's a pretty ugly way to start the day.
Great Hotel marred by poor customer service and management

Only hotels in Glenwood Springs to charge a parking fee and yet while this is a mandatory fee there is not enough parking for all the guests but there's enough to dedicate 8 spots for Tesla parking ( and only Tesla parking other EVs need not apply). The recommended resolution from the front desk? Park in the fire lane but don't worry because no one has been towed yet. Nothing I can do it was a decision of our property management company. Manager won't be here until Monday after you have checked out from the weekend.
Do Not Stay Here-Seriously!

We booked two nights here after having stayed during a prior visit and LOVING this hotel. First, they now charge $12 a night for parking which is not disclosed anywhere during booking and is frankly outrageous. Second, they put us in a filthy, and I mean FILTHY room. It smelled musty and like cigarette smoke. The carpet was disgusting-covered in what I'm sure was dog urine and fecal stains, which added to the smell in the room. The room did not look or smell like it had been cleaned in months, with damaged doors in the bathroom and filth everywhere, as if nothing has been wiped down in months. Shower was moldy and gross and again, look it hadn't been cleaned in months. The pull out couch had no sheets, pillows or blankets (and when I went up and requested blankets, I was handed the equivalent of a fleece throw blanket) and the mattress was yellowed and flat....and I mean flat down to the springs to where my daughter requested to sleep on the couch instead. The cleanliness of this room would be totally unacceptable at any given time, but if you're even the slightest bit concerned about Covid, this hotel will not put your worries at ease. It feels dirty and gross. If you want a quiet hotel, 1this is not the place for you. The people in the room above were up until 2 am stomping and banging. The parking lot is a constant stream of people coming and going and driving around the lot because there are NOT ENOUGH PARKING SPACES (the very ones they charge you for) and you get to listen to people walk up and down the hall talking and then slamming their doors. Basically don't plan on sleeping. The breakfast is unacceptable. Waffles with a single bottle of syrup available for everyone to wait in line to use. They offered a bacon and egg bagel hot sandwich that was rock hard and inedible, This experience was NOTHING like our initial stay and we were so appalled and disgusted by the condition of this hotel, we went to the hot springs pool for a couple hours and decided to check out a day early and drove 3 hours home, not caring about the $270 we were losing. I cannot believe how downhill this hotel went in 2 years. We will never stay here again.
I would find another hotel if possible.

As a loyal titanium bon voy member this was one of the worst hotels I’ve been to. Having to pay for parking is fine but when you charge me for parking and there is none available it’s a problem, proceeding to tell me that I can park wherever I can find a spot works. It definitely makes you feel nickel and dimed, additionally after parking a ways away I went to my room and then came back about an hour later when I realized I left a perishable item in my vehicle and there are at least 3 vehicles parked in the fire lane, this is unacceptable! The hotel was thrashed in most places, TVs missing in seating alcoves, doors with holes in them from non matching hardware, we had a nasty cleaning tag left in our room. The cleanliness was questionable and every hand sanitizer dispenser I tried on property was empty, completely unacceptable at the eating and coffee area. Our bed wasn’t made properly and the sheets were not where they should be. The pullout bed was awful and didn’t have proper bedding in closet.
Filthy and beat up.

First off I agree with all the complaints of $12/day parking. Absolutely ridiculous. Total scam. Second, this hotel is beat up and dirty. There isn’t a wall or door that isn’t scuffed up or banged up. The carpet in the rooms need a cleaning. There is no way possible the elevators have ever been cleaned and if a manager says they clean them regularly then they need their vision checked. The floor in the elevator is FILTHY ( and this one of the first things guests see when they arrive). Fingerprints and filthy streaks all over the elevator buttons and doors. Carpet in the front entrance is also filthy. Patio area is lacking tables. Only one grill for entire hotel. Hot tub area running amuck with little kids even though sign says “3 max.” Had to go to front desk for towels as the dirty bin was full but no clean towels. And the list goes on… For what we are paying it’s a shame.
