Food was very nice and the choice on the menu was good. The service was very good but a very pleasant waiter. We gave him a tip and he came rushing to us to say that service was included on the bill so no need to tip. We did as he was very nice. The only downfall is however we had to keep our coats on as the restaurant was very cold.

We went for a new years eve meal with our friends. There was a set menu with a selection of good choices. The food was outstanding all courses , the mushroom truffel pre starter was sublime , main course was a 10oz steak and chips absolutely excellent, my desert was a lovely cheesecake. Service was also excellent, orders taken efficiently and was delivered precisely,. All in al ok we all had a lovely relaxed evening in a nice setting and informal atmosphere.

This place is so bad it’s painful even talking about it. If you’re looking at trying it for the first time I wouldn’t bother. Booked a pre-Christmas meal for my family and without doubt it’s the worst eating out experience I’ve had for a long time. There’s not one positive I could take from this place which is a shame as it seems a pretty pub.

Popped in at lunch and everything seemed OK so booked for dinner. Bought first round cash and were overcharged - were told this would be rectified at final bill. Service not good - had to ask for menu, drink refills etc. Pub running at half capacity during our visit but Manager refusing walk ins ? One of the Upland chain so food delivered rather than cooked - which stopped us ordering the cassoulet or fresh fish. What we had was fine. Had to ask for bill twice and were charged for food we had not had - and no refund for earlier overcharge. Eventually sorted but whole problem need not have occurred. More training required

The room was one of the biggest I have ever stayed in. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. On the night I stayed there was a female singer with backing tapes while I ate and it rounded off the evening.
