Would not recommend this Hotel/Motel

July 2021 Where do I start? After many hours on the road we needed a place to stay to sleep and thinking we could find something on the whim we called Rerservations.com for help and explained to them that I wanted a 3 star hotel in a well lit location off of I-95 in the Goldsboro area. This hotel seemed more like a (- 0) star. It's location was off the beaten path into an industrial area and the hotel looked like a shelter/motel appearance. Once we arrived the Main doors were locked. There was a tiny glass window outside next to the lobby doors where you would speak to someone through a glass. It felt weird at that precise moment and not safe. It was almost 3:00am and we were exhausted and eager to sleep. As soon as we got the key to the room we noticed a crowd of people hanging outside our room door smoking and talking loudly in which was going to be a nuisance and it also seemed like suspicious (Prostitution or Narcotics) activity was going on through out the hotel itself. At that moment we did not bother to enter the room and decided to inquire about a full refund. The lady at the window cancelled our reservation and although we slept in the car that night at a rest stop it was well lit and alot safer for us than this hotel. Until this day we are still fighting for the full refund between Reservations.com and the hotel.

Upon arrival at approximately 10:15pm the front doors were locked. I was greeted by a nice man who was working the "front desk" which was actually a little alcove off to the side of the front doors. I had to slide my ID & credit card through the window he was behind. He disappeared for several minutes leaving me alone out front. I felt like a sitting duck. Not a good 1st impression & definitely not safe for anyone! Then I see a sign posted that they do not rent rooms to locals which didn't make me feel very secure either. I finally get room keys & head off only to be whistled at by another guest who seemed to be intoxicated. I get to my obvious recently renovated room that smelled like stinky shoes had been there for a while. Other than the stench the room appeared clean. As I went to lock the door I noticed the door jam had been repaired. It looked as though it had been kicked in at some point because the repair job was as sketchy as this motel! There was a peep hole in the door that someone had put tissue in. I heard people talking outside 1/2 the night & could hear anyone that walked past my room. I got no rest so I checked out at 5am or so. Horrible night & I will never stay or recommend. I can't believe Wyndham attaches it's name to this wretched place. Perhaps not advertising as a hotel might help travelers in the future as this is clearly a motel with little to offer in the way of security. I was grateful to leave unscathed despite having zero sleep.

Was charged $100 dollars for smoking in a room that was not cleaned properly and made to be a liar when trying to have the charge reversed! Never again will I not be moved to another room trying to be polite and not complain. I was dead beat tired and just wanted a good night sleep.

This was a trip for a family funeral. I needed something close to funeral. According to the map online it was close but it was hard to find the road it was located on. The sign was not easily seen from all directions.
