Ok hotel, but you can find better

Reviewed 15 january, 2017

We stayed at another hotel for the first 4 nights in Granada, but they didn't have room for our final night so we had to find an alternate. Last minute booking meant we ended up here - hotel is ok, with decent location, but definitely wouldn't be our first choice. Rooms are very loud, stairs and walkways are very noisy and you can hear everything in the hotel. Staff were nice, but not particularly welcoming. For the price there are far better choices available.

Beautiful building, helpful staff

Reviewed 27 february, 2016

The Building is amazingly beautiful - colonial style at it's best! The room (4 Person room) was also very nice with a very big bathroom. For breakfast we had different optional to choose from the day before, which were all good but not extraordinary. Staff was very friendly and helpful. As it is a old Building I didn't have good sich connection in the room, but had to go to the beautiful common area.

Not Welcoming....

Reviewed 2 february, 2016

The positive things( nice female workers, comfortable bed, and good breakfast), do not even come close to out-waying the negatives about this place. The room that we had was like a sauna, in spite of having 2 fans. There was AC available, but it was an extra $10.00 a day. It was actually cooler outside the room than inside. The Wifi was horrible. It only worked in the very unwelcoming courtyard and sometimes didn't work at all. The worst thing though, was that the "manager" sat at his computer all day long in the courtyard. He never once asked us how we were doing or if we needed anything. There were two other men who claimed to be travel agents or tour guides. The three talked all day long and into the night-- never talking or even acknowledging anyone else. My husband asked one of them where we could get a sim chip for our phone and he acted like he was bothering him. He told him to just walk out the door and down the street and look for himself. After two days of this incredibly rude service, we found another lodging. I feel sorry for the young women who have to work with this terrible manager and his rude friends.

We stayed at three hotels in Granada and this was the best of all for the $$

Reviewed 1 january, 2016

We wanted to stay at one place for 4 nights but couldn't book all our nights in only one place because we were visiting Granada during the Holidays and we were booking our hotels two weeks before the trip, most hotels were completely booked and so, we ended up staying at this hotel, a crazy man's house (airbnb) and at Dario Hotel. The three were absolutely stunning, the houses but… Airbnb, the house was beautiful but the man that owns it was weird and crazy, which kind of ruined the experience. Dario Hotel is beautiful, costs a little over twice as much as this hotel, there are plenty of people there so the pool has kids most of the time, the restaurant is VERY expensive but it's a very nice place! And this hotel, which we loved. It was smaller (more intimate), the house was a beautiful and authentic colonial home, we felt safe, it was very affordable compared to all the other places of the same style, the front desk ladies were very nice and welcoming, it's quiet and peaceful, you can hear all sorts of birds and it's located on a quiet street. If we go back to Granada, we will stay at Hotel Casa Antigua for sure.

Enjoyed the room and the breakfasts

Reviewed 14 december, 2015

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Antigua very much. The hotel staff was very friendly, the hotel felt quite secure, and the room was lovely and huge. The breakfasts were excellent and filling, and we really appreciated that they asked for our breakfast order among 4 choices the night before. The only things keeping me from giving it 5 stars are the lack of hot water and the fact that the hotel staff wasn't much help in recommending activities or restaurants. Otherwise, a wonderful experience.
