Housekeeping Lacking Big Time
Good location close to Flint and I-75. Due to Covid we always clean our hotel rooms, this one needed extra cleaning. Hair in the bathtub. Something all over the desk. It cleaned up easy but if housekeeping didn’t wipe down the desk, this is cause for concern. We asked for a new shower curtain as ours had some dark stains all over the middle. They dropped one off to us, but it was up to us to remove the old one and hang the new curtain. He also told us to make sure we quickly return the stained one to the front desk. We had 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths. No bath mat so water got all over the floor. No hand towel so when washing our hands we had to use the bath towel. We had a king room which only had 3 pillows and they were flat. Staff was good. We asked for extra towels, pillows and the shower curtain and quickly received them. They were polite and accommodating. I would suggest that management look at the cleaning staff especially since we are in a pandemic.
Disgraceful
We booked a room here for June 13 as part of a group of 12 families. Upon arrival at check-in time of 3pm, guests were checked in and given keys to rooms that had not been cleaned at all (trash in rooms, linens unchanged, etc.). We were told they had some staff call ins and rooms would be ready in a half hour. After being strung along for hours, at 8pm almost half of our group still did not have a clean room to go to. My family was actually told we would have to find another hotel to stay in because the housekeepers had to leave and they couldn't get around to cleaning a room for us. At this point we offered to clean a room ourselves. They wanted to switch us to another hotel that was far away from our group and the event we came to town for. The front desk staff was not at all apologetic for this huge inconvenience. While we were trying to figure out what to do, there were long periods of time when no one was even at the front desk, and the phone was ringing off the hook. The hotel was not especially full or busy on this particular day. I have never experienced anything like this from a hotel.
Horrible
My room smelled of smoke and I couldn't breathe. The lady at the desk informed me a smoker had used the room for an extended stay and they had fumigated. There were no other rooms available and it was late, so I stayed due to my business trip. I was sick the next day and had breathing issues. After being promised a call from management, which never happened, I hounded them until I they agreed to a 30% refund. Unacceptable. This is a non smoking facility. Don't rent the room if it's not smoke free! People have health concerns!
Nice Rooms But......
We come the the Grand Blanc area every September for a festival in the area. We have always stayed at the Quality Inn just down the road--it is a lot cheaper (usually). We had friends stay here so we thought we would try it out and expected, for the price, it would be much nicer than the Quality Inn. Well, check in was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice. A dew hr after check in we decide to go to the indoor pool for a swim. Nice pool but way too cold to swim--first disappointment. I talk to the front desk and they are apologetic and promise to talk to the maintenance guy to turn the heat on for tomorrow. Fast forward 24 hrs an guess what....still cold water. I again talk to the staff and again, I am promised that it will be warn the next night.Sunday night rolls around and still no difference. Also, as we returned to the room Sunday evening, the room was not made up. We are pretty easy going so I ask for clean towels and that would be all. I had to make 2 calls and did not get them until after 10 pm. For the extra $$, it was not a good deal and with the un-swimmable pool and waiting for towels....I would not recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel, but ask for the top floor
This hotel was nice. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was a standard HIE breakfast(we always look forward to the biscuits and gravy!), our room was clean, and we were generally happy with our stay. Our only issue was our upstairs neighbors. They were either giants stomping around as hard as they could, or the hotel is very poorly constructed. Our friends in the next room didnt have any issues with this kind of noise, so maybe it was just right in our area, or nobody was in the room above them? If we stay here again, we'll request to be on the top floor.
