Peaceful and charming retreat
We stayed for 3 nights during a biking trip of the area. Ideal location for setting out on day tours and for cycling through the vineyards to local restaurants. We enjoyed the peaceful location and ambiance which was,despite being relatively full, respected by other travelers. 2 negatives impacted our stay. Most importantly the very poor coffee at breakfast, which spoilt an otherwise splendid spread of local meats, cheeses and preserves. Secondly, the internet speed, which prevented video calls with loved ones in other countries. Only because it was my birthday!😃 You’ll not regret staying here if you enjoy peace and traditional style.
We stayed on
The three of us booked in this month for 6 nights; we ended up staying for 10. Rodern is conveniently in the middle of the most beautiful part of Alsace. The property was excellent. The owners marvellous. The breakfasts unmissable. I liked my big room and excellent walk-in shower. A completely memorable experience (and the sun shone for all 10 days).
Authentic and welcoming
We had a late night stay for one night without family and the hosts were extremely understanding of our lateness as we arrived late. A charming place oozing French courtyard. Super cute Greta breakfast with local homemade products. Clean bedsheets, room and nice shower. Missed having some water bottles in room/fridge and the mattress pillows were so so.
Fantastic place
Loved this charming place. The pool and breakfast area is really nice and intimate with a lot of charm. Amazing breakfast with homemade and local products. Very friendly and helpful owners. The room where big and clean. The bathroom is missing some brighter light but that’s really a detail. The hotel has a salong with chess, kicker and pool table and a nice big sofa- very cosy. Local vine that you can take up to the room. Fantastic area. Can warmly recommend this amazing place- and hope to be back sometime soon.
Great stay over on way back home
Stay over surpassed expectations, we Could have stayed a few more days. Historic building - old farm with origins back to mid few hundred years - gave room a very interesting touch. Teens enjoyed pool, jacuzzi and playing room.. especially pool table.. Nice surroundings in vineyards
