We stayed here for 2 nights. Once we checked in we went up to our room and the key wouldn’t work. After the staff tried several different things it still didn’t work. When had to leave for the hockey game and they assured us they would fix it. Once we got back to hotel we tried it again and it still didn’t work. After a few times of trying they finally switched us to a different room, The bed was terrible and the room needed some updates. The next morning we nicely complained about the room so they upgraded us to a suite. That room needed an update too and wasn’t very clean. They had missed emptying a garbage and sone Bobby pins in the counter. The staff was very good. Especially Ola at the front desk. We won’t stay there again though.

Rude and Cold.

Booked a weekend with family to enjoy the waterpark. King Penthouse Suite. We were informed in advance that half the waterpark was closed which was fine. We arrived at about 1:30 on Friday hoping to get an early check in. There were about 8 cars in the parking lot. After finally looking up, the man at the front desk informed me that check in time was at 4 PM. He did not ask my name, look up my room, or anything else. I've never heard of a hotel that wouldn't let you check in a few hours early if the room was already clean and ready. It was storming outside and we had lugged our bags in. This hotel will not hold your bags until check in so we had to carry them back out to the car and go kill a couple hours in the city. When we returned at 4 PM to check in, we had to stand at the empty counter for 2 minutes while a different gentleman finished his personal conversation with coworkers before finally coming over to help us. The room was cold. Really cold. Luckily there was a fireplace which helped a little bit once we figured out how to use it. The thermostat did nothing. The mini fridge froze our bottled water solid and beer had ice chunks in it, on the lowest setting. The bathroom has a shower curtain that doesn't go all the way to the floor and a weird shower that has the option to shoot the water straight out horizontally. This option combined with an inadequate shower curtain flooded the bathroom floor in about 10 seconds. The warm tub was kind of warm - you could easily sit in it for 3 hours and never get uncomfortably warm. I would guess it was 99 degrees. The lazy river/waterslide were fun but about 5 degrees too cold so we could only go down about 2x before going back to the warm tub. The other pool with basketball hoops was even colder. When I go to an indoor waterpark during a snowstorm the last thing I want is to be cold. The staff in the arcade and the lifeguards were actually polite, unlike everyone at the front desk. We won't be back.

Not worth the $

No bath towels in the room Pool is only half open - hottub (not hot), lazy river (cold), main pool. Mattress is not comfortable seems old and springy. Lumpy pillows. Staff was not friendly Water pressure is not good. Showerhead spits out water. Hotel is dated. Needs an upgrade. Only one elevator was working on the other side of the hotel. One of the more expensive hotels in this city and is not worth the $. I suggest you opt for one of the newer cheaper hotels in the city.

I think this hotel deserves better overall rating, but must respect others' experiences. My son and I took our first trip to Grand Forks in July 2021. We booked at one of the suite hotels, a chain we'd stayed at many times in other cities. This one was a disaster, so the first night I looked for a better place. I drove to three different suite hotels. One was no cleaner in the lobby. The other two looked promising, but when I asked to see a room before booking, they looked at me as though I were from Mars. Canad Inn had helpful, well-groomed staff, no problem showing me a room. The price was just a few dollars more so we moved the next day. Everything was positive - acres of parking, quiet atmosphere, a nice pub on the first floor, so I could take a drink responsibly. As I said in the title, for the town and in comparison to the competition, we were more than satisfied. We will return soon and stay at Canad Inn again.

From start to finish I didn't have a problem super helpful super clean super super fun . Stayed in the jacuzzi suite and had a blast. Will definitely be back. The waterpark was super fun we even got free complimentary passes for the park. Great jacuzzi suite I didn't want to leave.
