I booked this hotel as part of a wedding block. I called the hotel and asked them what the largest room they had. The gentlemen I worked with booked me in a King Suite Room for the 2 nights. When we arrived, the guy at the front desk was very rude. Didn’t tell me any of the details about the hotel accommodations/offerings. Gave me my room keys and retreated to his office. The room that he gave me was a standard double room. I went back to the front desk and showed him my confirmation and that I had booked and paid for a king suite. He told me that he was completely booked for the night and there wasnt anything he could do. When i asked him if he could adjust my rate since I had paid for a much bigger room to accommodate our large family he gave me some excuse that the rate I got is as good as it gets. I then asked if I could get extra blankets and pillows as we would have to make a bed on the floor for one of my kids. He told me he would bring them to our room. He never did. We had to go back down again and ask for them I which he made it seem like we asked him to move mountains for us. Overall, it was pretty disappointing the service we received. There were no apologies given and he made us feel like it was our problem that their staff made a mistake.
Good Hotel and Location

Driving a 20' U-Haul I had to make sure I could find a hotel where I'd feel comfortable parking the beast. This did the trick and it was a real good place to spend the night. Room was clean, quiet and provided a great night's sleep.
Another Great Stay

I use Priceline so I'm never sure where I'll end up in Grand Forks. This is my third time at the Fairfield this year as a result. Although I didn't go out of my way to choose this hotel I'm very happy that I got to stay there again. The hotel is in a super convenient location on 34th with all the big box stores which is nice. Decent sized room, certainly not big however well laid out. Nicely furnished rooms and hotel. The room was clean and updated. Nice newer TV, microwave, fridge, and desk chair. The bed was wonderfully large and soft with a choice of many different pillows as well. The bathroom was nice and clean, good size. I went to bed fairly early and didn't hear anybody else through the walls. Everything was clean and new feeling. I have read a few negative reviews about this hotel and I really don't agree with them. I once again used Priceline so I did pay considerably less than someone walking in off the street or booking through the hotels website so it was a better value for me than perhaps some other guests. That said, I found no weird smells, no small rooms, nothing to suggest this is an old building other than the exterior design. I understand how spending more and getting a fairly regular room could be disappointing, however, I don't feel that's reason to disparage what's a nice hotel staffed with friendly staff and clean rooms.
Keep scrolling. Don't stay here. Just don't.

We stay in hotels a lot. This one was bad. From the weird smells almost everywhere (elevator, pool room, hallways, ect.) to the dated, small uncomfortable rooms. Worst bed and nights sleep my entire family has gotten in a long time. Paid $140/night and I wouldn't pay $50 for this room again.
Definitely not worth the money

Just got home from a two night stay at the Fairfield Inn Grand Forks. We have stayed in at least a dozen different hotels in Grand Forks over several decades and I have never had the desire to write a negative review for any one of them...until the Fairfield. By comparison, this is a highly overpriced hotel considering the amenities and facility. I’ve stayed in some rough places and some beautiful places and always evaluate based on what I am being charged. We were disappointed right from the moment we walked down the dated hallway. This hotel is not worth what they charge for a night. Do yourself a favour, save a bunch of money and stay across the street at the Roadway Inn.
