The lowest point of our visit was when a group of people moved into the cabin right next to ours at 9:30 PM and started partying on the deck literally 5 feet from our cabin. They were talking loudly, smoking weed and coughing for hours. We assumed they were other guests and did not say anything, but the next morning heard people wake up early and saw so cars parked anywhere and realized (we believe) that it was the employees who had been partying outside our cabin. On top of this, we were not able to get any food and were never told when the breakfast was available. We missed it after sleeping in because we were kept up late the night before. The service was quite poor. I would never return. In general, bring your own food when visiting Grand Mesa! We had a hard time getting dinner (which was ‘not available’ at the Alexander Lodge) and ended up with frozen pizza and French fires at another lodge.

Absolutely awful.

Would have given them a zero for their non compassionate behavior. We got stuck in the snow for 7 hours from 5pm to 2 am and the sheriff had to come and rescue us. We had no cell service. My husband had to walk a mile in the snow and hold the phone in the air to get 911. Our car had to be towed out the next day. I called the Lodge to ask if we wouldn’t be charged but instead of being halfway caring, she started in about how it wasn’t their fault we got stuck. Why didn’t we call them if we could get a hold of the sheriff. I explained it took multiple call attempts to get 911 and our concern at 1 am after stuck in a car for seven hours was to get to safety. They said I needed to call Expedia for the refund. I did that but when Expedia contacted them they said they wouldn’t give a refund. I called to ask why they would tell me they would but then say differently when they called. They were extremely rude on the phone. Defensive about how other guests made it so why couldn’t we. They called me a liar saying if I could contact 911 we should have called them. These people are only concerned about money. If you want to go to a place with ride, liars, don’t care about human life, then by all means give these people your money.

No restaurant here

Reviewed 26 august, 2021

Stayed here recently. The cabin was very nice but the restaurant is non-existent. When we checked in we were told dinner was served from 4:30 to 5:00. At 4:30 we were told the only food was the "special". I think whatever the family is having for dinner they make a few extra of to serve to the guests. The home page of the website shows a grilled steak, baked potato and asparagus. The menu certainly doesn't list steak and none of the menu items were being offered. Breakfast was cold, overcooked poached eggs, croissants, biscuits and instant gravy w/o sausage, instant grits, instant oatmeal and cold cereal. Also coffee, tea, milk and OJ. If you're going to stay here bring your own food and paper towels ! Service is mixed-one of the family members is friendly, the others are rude.

Stay, Play & Eat

Nothing but a wonderful experience here at Alexander Lake Lodge.  The main lodge is beautiful with a Game of Thrones vibe and the food here is delicious.   When I first came up my friends and I stopped in for lunch where we had huge homemade burgers and fries.  I came back later on this year with the entire family and ended up making a day of it, renting their brand new 2021 Polaris ATVs and UTVs that just arrived.  They even had a supercool exotic slingshot car they said we could rent.  They happily catered to our family of 8 who plans trips last minute (4 adults and 4 kids under they age of 9) making us feel right at home.  We enjoyed a home cooked meal at 8:30 at night.  Feasting over a variety of the homemade Polish food they had to offer as well as burgers that were made exactly how each kiddo ordered.  I highly recommend any of the Polish food or drinks as the family that runs the lodge are all from Poland and they take pride in their business and country heritage.  Alexander Lake Lodge is now a destination vacation to escape the heat and hustle and bussle of the city life.  They have it all. EAT. STAY. PLAY & RELAX. I can't wait to book a few cabins with them next and make a week long vacation!

So rude

Reviewed 28 june, 2021

Went to have lunch at the restaurant and was met very curtly when I walked in the door almost like I was walking in a personal residence. Told them I was there for lunch and to use the restroom. Was told they were sold out of everything and after I used the facility, I was told “I had to buy something!” I said I would be happy to buy something, just direct me to the store, there is no store, lady went behind the bar, handed me two waters and said that will be $3.00. I have never been treated so rudely!
