More about the hotel
Comfortable
This hotel is conveniently located in town. The rooms are comfortable, but a little on the smaller size. Everyone was very friendly at check-in and check-out. We will definitely consider staying here again.
Nice rooms
Rooms have been updated and are very nice. AC unit though sounds like a jet spooling up. Lots of AM traffic noise and noise from engine brakes of tractor trailers coming off the highway. Breakfast was a bag containing an apple, Go Gurt, and a granola bar. Great rates though.
Great Inn!
This inn is staffed by very friendly staff who were eager to be of assistance. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is great and the inn is actually pretty cool looking (not that looks are super important, but at least it was cute) It was very affordable and the breakfast in the am was decent as well. I recommend it!
Worst customer service
I booked a room on hotels.com for two queen beds. When we got there at 8:45pm the room we were given had only one bed. When I went to the front desk, the girl there was "locked out" of the system that would have been used to change our room. She tried to call her manager. No answer. We each attempted to fix the problem, her to expedia and me to hotels.com without a positive outcome. The manager decided that texting the girl at the front desk was a better idea than simply calling her. Back and forth they went without a resolution. All this over $10! We demanded a refund and went elsewhere. Worst case of crappy customer service ever.
Nice surprise at the end of a long day
We ended up unexpectedly spending the night in Grangeville on our way to Montana, after being held up for more than an hour and then detoured from our route due to fires. We pulled into Grangeville a little after 10pm, couldn't find rooms at the major chain hotel in town, but discovered this place had room. By then we were so tired we didn't care where we slept. So it was a bonus to discover that these rooms were clean, well-stocked, LARGE, and priced well. And the beds were pretty comfortable. We even had a little kitchenette in our room! Plus the service was friendly and personal: we were leaving EARLY the next morning (around 5am) which was before breakfast was officially served. We asked the night before if there would at least be coffee at that time. The night clerk said she would be sure to tell the next clerk. At 5am, we went to get coffee, and the sweet lady at the desk had already gotten out oatmeal, made coffee, and offered to fix us toast or other easy breakfast items. Great service! I only gave 4 stars because of one small thing. We needed room for 5 people. We ended up with a room with 2 queen beds plus a sleeper sofa. The sleeper bed mattress was horrendous and our 5th member ended up just sleeping on the couch. Yes, sleeper mattresses are usually thin, but this was worse than most. The couch itself was not awful but not as nice as a decent sleeper mattress. Otherwise this was a great stay!
