Please do not become the COVID SITUATION an excuse to do not offer what people expects in a Hilton.
Unfortunately, due to shortness of staff and even though I did ask for my room to be clean it, was not clean it. Is the COVID ERA a synonym for a lack of common things at some Hiltons Property? I am currently staying at this property and I am paying for it, not free I guess. I am a diamond member. In Canada, the USA, Mexico, China, Taiwan, and Europe, I have been at several HILTONs before and during the pandemic. I have NEVER EVER experienced something like this. My last stay at a HILTON property before this one was just a few weeks ago at the HILTON GUADALAJARA MEXICO. When I did Check-in Guadalajara the front desk agent did ask me if I want my clean room every day, I said yes! Here, they did not ask me, and thinking that maybe they forgot to ask me I did ask for the room to be cleaned. Unfortunately, due to shortness of staff and even though I did ask for my room to be clean twice, was not clean it. The staff at the hotel is nice and they do their jobs, and probably it is not a big deal, to do some cleaning for your own, but I never expect to face this situation and answer in a Hilton property. Upper management staff should look what it is going on in this property. Out of this small thing, it is a good PLACE a regular HILTON. Please do not become the COVID SITUATION an excuse to do not offer what people expect in a Hilton. Thank you!
Extremely Disappointing
My husband surprised me for our anniversary and booked us a KING room here. We walk in the hotel and the lobby is beatiful but it took us a second to figure out where to check in. You are not greeted by anyone when you walk in. We get to the 4th floor get in out KING room that turns out to be a room with two queen beds with a terrible view. He calls down to the front and they tell us they cannot change it they do not have a room available and they are sorry.... He showed me the email confirmation that said he reserved a king. The parking lot never had more than 10 vehicles in it how could they not have a king room available. First off how do we book a king room and walk into a double queen in the first place. We let it go and try to enjoy our stay.... The bed was very comfortable but I could not sleep because the room was so hot. The thermostat was definitely off 65 is more like 75. Then at 7am on Saturday they mow the lawn because that is exactly what you want to listen to at 7am on a Saturday when you are on vacation.
Awful
Booked a room for our wedding night. Biggest mistake ever!! The room was small, dark and dated, with only an abnormally small window. But, the worst thing was the smell. The carpet smelled as if it had been peed on. Just horrible. We decided to check out and go home after several hours. We were offered a different room, which we declined. We didn't ask for nor were offered a refund or discount, but were told we would receive extra HHonor points to make up for our inconvenience. I've traveled all over the world, and haven't experienced such a horrible room at this price point. I'm really shocked that Hilton would have such low standards. Edited to add: this stay and the extra Hhonor points promised were not posted to my Hhonors account.
Beautiful Hotel, Lacking Appropriate Staffing
We booked two rooms this past weekend. Upon arrival, the hotel was beautiful and well maintained. However, they currently do not have adequate staffing to take care of their guests. First thing on Saturday morning, we went downstairs to eat the complete breakfast we paid extra per person for and were handed a breakfast in a box. We went to the desk and asked for a refund, which they gladly gave us and apologized for not having the breakfast we paid for. We then left our room around 9:30 a.m. and returned at 4:00 p.m. We walked in and noticed our rooms were not cleaned or stocked. One of our rooms was out of toilet paper completely and the other one had no clean towels or toiletries. I went to the front desk and asked if our rooms could be cleaned while we were out for the evening. I was told housekeeping was gone for the day and they were trying to maintain "contact less" service for the guests and staff. If we wanted our rooms cleaned we needed to request it. I was never told this when I checked in. Next, one of the rooms toilet clogged at 2:00 a.m. We went to the front desk and was told they did not have anybody on staff to fix the toilet or a plunger that we could use. We went back upstairs and had a room with a toilet we could not use. Luckily, we had adjoining rooms and so 5 of us shared the one working toilet. When I checked out of the hotel at 11:30 a.m., the toilet in one of our rooms was still clogged. Nobody came to fix it. I let the front desk know and she asked if we were offered a new room, which we never were. I did receive a discount for both of rooms. At this point and time, if you are not able to provide adequate staffing to care for your guests properly, you probably should not be opened or charging "normal rates".
No Refund for COVID-19. Rude Rep. Poor Judgement
I had reservation to say March 12-15. My called several days earlier to see if i can cancel due to corona. Rep. told me they would charge me $160 to cancel since it was nonrefundable 4 days out. No show would incur same fee. So i didn't cancel my reservation ( why would i can cancel when it's same fee??). March 12, 9PM i get an email from Hilton stating they would waive nonrefundable fee for COVID-19. I didn't see the email until next morning, which now the hotel has me as a no show. I called to see if i can get a refund and rep told me NO because of no show and was very rude.
