More about the hotel
A fine stay
This was our second visit to 3 Norfolk Square, about 3 years after our first. We chose this guest house as it was excellent last time and still is. I'm not going to list everything about the place except to say that it was top notch in every respect. Obviously a lot of hard work goes into keeping up the high standard. We could ask for no more and we will definitely be back. I like to read the other reviews and always make a bee line for the poor ones. I simply don't understand the handful of poor reviews, and their experience doesn't reflect ours in the slightest. I guess there's just no pleasing some people.
Fifth visit to this lovely hotel.
Just returned from a two night stay. We visit friends in Great Yarmouth every year and this is the fifth time we have stayed at 3 Norfolk Square having stayed at inferior places in the past. It is like home from home every time we visit and we look forward to the lovely breakfast. Very impressed at the steps taken for Covid. Can’t recommended the place more highly.
Very average
I really don’t understand where the 5 star accommodation claims come from. This is a very average bed. I can’t say breakfast as when we booked on booking.com we were told we had to pay extra for breakfast. No info on breakfast arrangements so I sent a request saying we’d let them know on arrival if that was ok. Message back saying no problem. Arrived to be told that they were only doing breakfasts for five rooms as a result of Covid restrictions and we were too late. Wish I’d been told beforehand especially as their Covid leaflet in room said that they would do shifts if more than 5 rooms wanted breakfast. So we only used their bed and missed out on breakfast so had to go into town. Recommend the beach hut for breakfast . No great hardship but it meant it was a bed only. Son had their single room. Avoid at all costs. No adequate ventilation apart from fixed fan, and room was claustrophobic and smelled of damp or drains. Sea view in double? yep if you can look round corners...outside loads of cobwebs so not great first impression. Temperamental fridge in our room that barely moved above cool. Appreciated fact that could eat in rooms. Helpful staff as asked for softer pillows as ones we had were like bricks. Great Yarmouth really very sad, tatty and rundown but I think that’s like many of the family seaside resorts? B and B in great location but avoid park with running track opposite as early one evening saw persons (moving thankfully) feet sticking out from under a bush..so guessing either drink or drugs. This really wasn’t a luxury experience for us, perhaps we were just unlucky?
Amazing stay with cherished memories
Stayed from Friday to Sunday, 10/10 room. Elsa was a great host, breakfast was top class. Information book was filled with good recommendations, covid-19 policies were of a high standard. 100000000000% will be back. Thanks for having us! Nick and Leanne x
Great place
We have just stayed for four nights and it was excellent. There is a reason it has been given 5 star status and it’s because it is 5 star! Rooms are spotlessly clean, the service is top class and you can tell that the owners really do work really hard at maintaining it so. Breakfast is delicious and Elsa is extremely helpful and friendly. I omens it highly enough.
