Wonderful hotel, great location
We've had a wonderful (coronaproof) stay at one of the suites in a beautiful historical building. The rooms were clean, spacious, and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was conveniently located in the city centre, near the water. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Parking: in the car parking near the hotel
no sleep hotel
The rooms have no AC, and the windows don't open properly. Even though the evening outside had a comfortable 20 Celcius, the rooms were well above 28. Keeping the window open exposed a lot of noise, for which the provided earplugs were not sufficient. I ended up keeping the room door open with a chair. A park bench would have been similarly private but much cooler and definitely cheaper. The hotel staff didn't care much about our repeated complaints.
Inexcusable
There is no AC in the room wich was 28° almost entire time. Hotels solution was a fan wich didn’t help to cool down. Hotel offered 330 ml of water once for the whole stay. It is overpriced. Complains were ignored by the reception with an excuse that is a hot weather. Reception gave incorrect bill. At the end of the day it is a bad hotel experience.
Nice stay in the center of Groningen
Nice, quirky hotel near the center of Groningen. The rooms are really appartments in separate buildings, but at the price of a hotel room. Friendly reception and quiet night's rest. Very near all the central areas of the city. Parking garage was quite tight to get in to (large car) and reception was a bit difficult to find.
Superb - central location and all amenities provided
We booked the Penthouse, great location and nice bar (de Sigaar) next door. Many places for dinner nearby. Friendly staff, breakfast is two doors down and is an experience by itself with everything you could wish for.
