Best Hotel in Guadalajara for AMEX Platinum Members

Reviewed 26 november, 2021

This hotel is under the AMEX Hotel Collection. If you have an AMEX Platinum Card visit this hotel since you will have lots of benefits. To begin you get $100 on-site hotel credit, as well as a free room upgrade since the AMEX Platinum give you Hilton Gold Status. Even if you don’t have an AMEX Platinum card I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The service is excellent, the restaurant and bar is amazing as well. I will definitely be returning.

Been a disappointment since even before checking in trying to phone the hotel and no one bothered to pick up the phone or if they did hung up on 2 times also when arrived was gteeted nicely from the bellman but front desk was the completely different experience have gold status with Hilton and stay quite abit in hotels and the helpfulness of the front desk was very disappointing Also room we have has no windows when we asked for a upgrade was told impossible when looking on the Hilton site was quite a few bedroom options ect. Did not mind even paying for a different room also... all in all stayed in other hotels in the area and were cheeper and better quality with pools ect. For the same price or better had dinner in the evening and the restaurant automatically added a tip and if my wife had not looked over the bill not seen ot as on tje bill says gratuity is not included and in Mexico its not allowed to automatically add tip me my self live of tips and probably would have tiped more then they had added but the sneaky way they added it is very upsetting and should be careful will also be reporting to PROFECO so this hopefully will not happen to anyone else

Definitely a mixed experience

Reviewed 29 october, 2021

Very mixed experience for us at this hotel. My spouse has been a Hilton diamond member for years so we use the brand often, First time at a Curio property and we booked using the American Express Hotel Collection site. I booked a larger room with kitchenette, which was apparently the problem. The room was one of the worst I’ve run across in a similar-level hotel. Multiple issues and I won’t divulge them all but maintenance was lacking….at one point, the already-shaky bathroom doorknob came off and we used a kitchen knife to put it back on. The suite is an annex of some type attached to the back of the hotel and looks nothing like the main pat of the building, which is more modern colonial in feel. In fact, the “regular” rooms looked much nicer, I called the front desk to ask about the possibility of changing rooms to the main part of the hotel but was told it was impossible. Not sure why. Balancing the poor room choice was the staff….wonderful. Front desk, bellman/parking and food and beverage personnel were all great. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant and had a few beers and tequilas, too. Next morning, breakfast was very tasty, The eating side of the hotel is definitely good! Location….not a lot of interest in the immediate area but it is very easy to access from the nearby freeway which cuts through Guadalajara. We prepaid for two nights via American Express but left after one night, choosing to move to another property for the remaining night. I liked the hotel overall but hated the room, so it’s definitely a “mixed bag” at least for us.

Great hotel. Wonderful staff. Two thumbs up for Ana Lopez and Giovanni and Paola. Hardworking, friendly, kind and attentive. Ask Ana to make you that amazing margarita ! Or Giovanni for an unusual cocktail. And Paola - great hostess ! 5star
