Loved the location, the building, and the price

If you're not too picky, this is a great spot. The location is unbeatable - steps away from the theater and Jardin Square. It's an old building with lots of charm - my room had 18' ceilings with old wooden beams. Their prices are great. Cons: bathroom was small, hot water took forever to heat up, paint job was sloppy. I asked for a window in my room (ahead of time) and got one, that looked out onto the street. But the street has several clubs nearby and one had a loud band both nights. I used my earplugs and was fine. If you're a 5-star addict and want the best, keep looking. But if you're willing to put up with some quirks and some stairs to get a great location/neighborhood/charm, sign up for this place.
Location is everything

This hotel had such an awesome location! It was right next to the theater! Add to that that it was a historic hotel with charming rooms everywhere, and I was absolutely delighted to stay there. There is a brick in the ceilings and they were arched and it was everything good.
However, my room had no outside window. even when I went into it for the first time, it smelled like a bathroom. If I didn’t leave the bathroom door completely closed, it absolutely stunk up the entire room. There’s no fan in the bathroom, and nowhere for air to circulate, I don’t know if there’s sewer odours coming up from shower drain or what happened, but I was gagging brushing my teeth.
In addition, there was a window, but it connected to someone else’s bathroom(didn’t open). They left the bathroom light on all night, so I had a lit window all night.
I just didn’t want to hang out in the room. And I found myself hanging out in their lounge areas, which is awesome that they had so many. I don’t really know what to say, because if I could stay in a room that had ventilation, I definitely would stay here again. However I would never want to stay in the room I was in again.
THIEVES! They steal your credit card information!

We stood there for a couple of nights and as soon as we left they tried to use our credit card information to make purchases, the bank notified us immediately and blocked the robbery. Sadly we’re not the only ones to experience this situation in that hotel, many people have gone through the same thing. BY NO CIRCUMSTANCES I RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY IN THAT HOTEL. There are plenty of other friendly and well located hotels in that area.
Very solid spot

Stayed here for 3 nights. Excellent location - walking distance to pretty much all of the major sights in Guanajuato. Lots of restaurants and bars - ranging from fancy Italian food to tequila shots and karaoke - within a 2 minute walk. Room wasn't anything spectacular but it was clean, spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Only (minor) issue is that the wireless was a bit inconsistent. Highly recommended.
Hermoso y barato Best Hotel

This is such a great hotel. It's very catholicesque beautiful places to take pictures in the hotel itself. It's close to, in my opinion, the best part of Guanajuato, Jardín de la Unión. I got it for $51 on Orbitz.com with a coupon and only paid one night, I decided to extend my visit and they gladly matched the Orbitz price. The hotelmen are very kind and so ready to provide the best service. It's basically next door to the Juárez Théâtre and jardin de la Unión and Pipila and the market. Great Hotel!
