Noisy and no a/c
Reviewed 30 April, 2021
This hotel is located right on the square and above a noisy bar that plays booming music until 2:00 am. It's old, just old, not quaint or picturesque. No a/c and so noisy outside that you can't open the windows because the noise is unbearable. Do not stay here!
Worst room worst service ever

Booked a superior room with balcony and view over the square. No where on the website specify that the hotel it’s next to a club and bar and mariachis ! Rooms have no insulated windows , curtains are old and cold even be closed ! The noise was unbelievable! The windows were shaking. If you stay at this hotel avoid room 504 on the 3rd floor ! It does have a nice view but it’s very very very noisy. You won’t be able to sleep at all. I contacted the front desk and asked to be moved , Oscar P answered the phone and told me the hotel was at full capacity ( during the pandemic ) . I decided to walk downstairs and chat with him face to face ....
it was not very helpful at all , and the only response he had when I told him it was very noisy and windows were shaking , he responded that we are in the city center ?
Which I reply so what ? I asked to speak to the manager José Antonio C , but he was not available. To make the story short .... I had to suck it up and wait until 330am to get some rest !
The sad part , no one at this hotel gives a dam !
They Can care less if you get a bad room or if it’s to noisy.
Please be swear before booking.
FANTASTIC FINAL DINNER ON THE BALCONY

make sure to reserve an open air table overlooking the Plaza on your last night. Watch the performers lure and entice their guests through song and dance before heading out on the night time tour. It was a perfect ending.

Perfect location! We stayed Friday-Monday
In a double room, the beds were big, big enough that we could fit 2 adults and 2 kids in each bed. However they weren't super comfortable. The were located on the ground floor next to the park and at night it was loud up until 5am friday and Saturday. It didn't bother us though it was almost like white noise.
Hotel San Diego Guanajato

Let me start by saying I am pretty picky, I have stayed in some rather basic rooms, but also in the presidential suite at couple of Vegas hotels.
That being said, I wouldn’t ever stay in this hotel again.
For the price, there are only two reasons to stay here, one, the great restaurant they have located on the second floor or the location.
But if you want the location, I would look into other hotels in the area.
The furniture is old, the beds are hard, there is no air conditioning, the TV’s are about 24” with lousy cable, there is noise because of the downtown location.
In one pic, you’ll notice the fan, it works ok, you have to leave the windows cracked open for the breeze.
The hotel staff is nothing to brag about, not so friendly. Not saying they are bad, but they aren’t happy to be working there or so it seemed.
It is just overpriced.
The Holiday Inn Express located outside of town for the price is almost new, though away from downtown, and they have a pool air conditioning and great beds and tv’s.
And a friendly staff.
Like in most city’s, taxis are cheap, Holiday Inn to downtown, about 70-80 pesos or about $4-5 US.
Did I mention the Italian restaurant on the second floor of hotel San Diego?
But you don’t have to stay there to have dinner.
On the other hand, Guanajato is a great place to visit.
Take care and travel more!
