Weak, even no internet & poor service
I am still at hotel and staying one of the most expensive room, 2001, and just able to connect a very weak internet. Most of the information at their page is not true. Breakfast is very weak. The hotel does not pay you back the money you paid for.
Horrible Horrible Horrible
It was a nightmare. The staff completely doesn't know English at all. Room was outdated. The door is super outdated. There were stains on the walls and tables. I ended up having big bites since to the rough hard beds. Safety deposit box wasn't working, Bathroom was actually renovated and very nice but the shower head was broken and water kept coming off on the bottom of it. It was such a horrible experience and except check in at 6pm. How outdated can they get?! Atleast 4pm. Never again I will come to this horrible hotel.
Not Too Bad
After looking at the reviews here which mostly are negative, i don't have much expectation on it. As mentioned by most of the visitors, the air-conditioning is not that cold and noisy as well as the breakfasts are same everyday along my staying period. However, in my opinions, the room is quite spacious and the staffs are quite helpful. The view from the room is quite beautiful as well, especially the canton tower shine bright during night time!
This place is great if you love hot rooms and horrible breakfast!
I'm refraining from using the excessive amount of profanity that I feel like using. I signed up for TripAdvisor exclusively to warn people to stay away from this hotel. I'm an exceptionally positive person in general, but this review will not reflect that in any way. TL;DR - Avoid this place at all costs. Horribly overpriced. Unhelpful service. Uncomfortably hard mattresses. Terribly slow internet. Showers that leak all over the floor. Awful breakfast. The absolutely most offensive thing about this hotel is the lack of good air conditioning. I had the displeasure of staying here twice over two phases of the Canton Fair for about 8 days total in two different rooms. Both rooms were hot. The thermostat can be set down to 10 Celsius, but the temperature would not budge below 25 Celsius. I didn't have a single night that I didn't wake up multiple times drenched in sweat. The elevators are cooler than the rooms, and that's not saying much. When we went to the front desk to complain, they just sent up "maintenance" people that would adjust the thermostat so that it would read -9 degrees below the actual temperature, but the temperature of the room wouldn't actually change. They would say "Okay?" like they actually did something, but after calling people up to our room a half dozen times and achieving the same result, we just gave up. There is also no hotel bar. Given the sleeping conditions, being able to get a buzz and just pass out seems like the best option. The Chinese restaurant downstairs will serve you hot beer until 11 or 11:30pm. The Indian restaurant actually had some cold beers, which was appreciated. You just have to sit among other hotel guests smoking in a room with no air conditioning to drink it. The internet sucks here. So, while we do technically have "free wifi", we've been forced to go elsewhere to find a reliable connection. The beds are awful. You would think for $150 USD/night you would have a reasonable mattress to sleep on. We found mattresses that were comparable in softness to the dirty carpet in the room. Finally, the breakfast in the mornings is absolutely disgusting. The food is mostly cold and inedible. The orange juice tastes like watered-down Tang. They have some standard cereals (corn flakes and rice crispies), which became my daily breakfast for the first three days. The milk was room temperature, but at least it was somewhat edible. On Day 4, I got my normal corn flakes and took a bite to discover that the milk was HOT. Like, super hot. I have never wanted room temperature milk so bad. They told me that they didn't have room temperature or cold milk, which is obviously wrong since I had it the first few days of my stay. That was the last time I even attempted to eat breakfast here. There is just no consistency in service (except in horrible beds and non-functional air conditioners) and I found myself constantly hot, sweaty, tired, and frustrated by their lack of response in any positive way. Avoid this place at all costs. It may be my worst hotel experience ever and I've stayed in many all over the world. A hostel with a room full of people would have been preferable.
Hands Off - This is the first worst hotel we have never been living worst
This hotel is really bad. We arrived with a group of 10 people and confirmed the hotel by paying the whole amount upfront days in advance!!! On arrival they had only rooms for half the group and asked the rest to move into a very lousy "partner hotel" of theirs. They promised to return the money to us, but later on refused to do so. The rooms were okay for some of us, but some rooms had only a bed inside and only some old furniture. The beds were full of fungus and it smelled bad, when entering the room. The showers were not giving enough water pressure and therefore you need to jump from drop to drop. The breakfast was a joke. Most cold. Instant fruit juice. Definitely not 5 stars. The lift always don't work correctly. It took therefore 15 minutes to get from 22nd floor to ground level. We had a great time as you can see. Now we sue them for the money they owe us!!
