Scammers & Disloyals
Reviewed 4 january, 2022
There is nothing uglier as a tourist than feeling scammed or ripped off. This is how they have made us feel in this hotel and that's why I drop them a 1 star review. The only benefit of this hotel is that it is located at the airport. I have made a reservation of € 85 and have been charged € 110 for using an abusive exchange rate when passing from Euros to Brazilian Reals. They work for the tourism sector, but they make money by take advantage of tourists. They will make money in a disloyal way when they have the opportunity and, obviously, they do not listen to complaints. Tryp by Wyndham Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport is a hotel that cannot be trusted. I strongly advise against it, go only if you have no other option and get sure to bring Brazilian Reals.

Short Stay @ GRU
Reviewed 31 december, 2020
This is my first time to this type of property. Very simple amenities. No hot water kettle. No glasses (not even plastic) in bathroom. No hangers but thank God for 2 hooks behind bathroom door. No telephone with landline to use in case of an emergency. All requests are to be texted via WhatsApp to hotel desk. Let’s see how I can text requesting for IMMEDIATE medical attention before passing out. Ummm?! Quality of food at restaurant was less than average. Can I have my breakfast eggs be served besides being cold? Turkey dinner with mash potatoes last night was served cold also. At the Narita Tokyo Airport, I stayed at an inside airport “short stay” facility (1000 yen per hour) which was more comfortable. My smaller room there even had a telephone, if I correctly recall. The walls are very thin. I am listening to my neighbor having a mobile conversation as I submit this evaluation. The windows are not well-insulated as advertised in the hotel’s website. I have a great view of the airport ramp area. Each time a baggage tug drives by, my rest is disrupted. This hotel is associated with the Hilton brand via Wyndham. Corporate should do a surprise visit or send a covert company representative to conduct thorough evaluation. I’m just saying. As a former Front Office Manager (FOM) of a major Hilton Hotel (450+ rooms), I am concern the basic standard is not being met at this property.

Terrible hotel. Rooms are tiny, with no fridge, closet, or even a coat hangar or iron. Not even a plastic cup or glass provided. The only upside is that it seems clean enough. I will not be staying here again if I have any other option.

Practical for transit
Reviewed 20 october, 2020
Because I had a 20 hours transit, I booked myself at the Tryp Hotel inside Terminal 3 of GRU airport. During the pandemic, the hotel is really quiet. The "coldness" of the staff made it more quiet, since I don't think they're that friendly. The check in process took quite long, I don't know why, there weren't even any line. After I got the keys to my room, I tried finding my way to the room in it was like a maze, quite far and confusing - especially after landing from a 16 hour flight. Inside the room, the amenities were really basic, only 1 bottle of water, only 2 pillows on a king sized bed, very thin blanket, basically nothing else. No water heater to make warm drinks. There's no phone in the room which means there is no room service. Being hungry after a long flight, this made me sad. The next morning, breakfast was served a la carte. The choices were very limited, and I had a communication problem with the staff since they don't speak english. This hotel is okay if you just want to lie flat and sleep properly and shower before your next flight. But don't hope for any fancy facilities.

Practical option for transit
Reviewed 6 september, 2020
This hotel is located in the 2nd floor of the Terminal 3 of San Pablo Airport. It's better to book it online as the price is quite different: online was 100 usd but when I arrived to the counter they wanted to charge 170 usd. Thanks to a discount voucher I finally paid 140 usd. It also impacts on the price the quantity of hours that you'll stay, as they asked me at what time I'll be leaving. Booking online will also help to speed up the process of the check in. After I arrived a long queue of passangers was formed, with only one staff attending all of us. The rooms are basic, with towels, heating, air conditioning, TV, hair dryer. Small soap but no shower cap. Walls are thin and you can hear the neighbours next door (but no planes taking off!). Try to get a distant room, far from the main corridor. No duvets because of Covid, but when I asked for blankets they provided me with 2. Breakfast was basic, and during Covid times bad orginazed. Two woman attend customers but quite late, after you have taken your cup of coffee and is already cold. There's a limit capacity of 20 guests in the breakfast room during this Covid period. Restaurant is no longer working (on the 3rd floor of the Terminal you can find some options for restaurants for having a meal at an average price of 10 uds). Staff is very helpful. Invoice is sent by mail in case you need it. The hotel is practical when you have a long wait for the next plane, as you don't have to get out of the airport. But as it is the only one, the price to pay is overrated compared to hotels that you can find in the surroundings.
