Well happy with the guest house very clean rooms and bathrooms but wish they would clean the knobs on the bannisters filthy Beds very comfy happy with our stay But abit fed up that we paid twice for breakfast as none available at the guest house some guests have said they recieved a voucher to exchange at a nearby cafe we didn't Overall it was a pleasant stay parking was diabolical Some guest parked outside the front door with us having to climb over the car I parked there to off load luggage but moved the car very quickly knowing it would impede access to guest house and probably damage my car If it had parking I would stay again but not while it has no parking plus guest house on a very very busy main road The landy sue was very nice
A great Guest House

Went to Guildford for a gig and AV was located handily and VFM. Really warm welcome from host Sue, lovely comfy beds, immaculately clean room and all the facilities I needed (wifi, shower, kettle, tea). To be honest the people who have written the poor reviews must have been on glue. A gem of a place and a snip at the price.
A horrible stay

The room hasn’t been cleaned for months. There was hair everywhere and the bathroom was disgusting. We had booked 1 week earlier and we thought we’d at least get a clean room especially with everything that’s going on at the moment with the pandemic. We found a small used soap bar and 1 cup of tea half filled with water.!!! Dust was everywhere!. We couldnt sleep that night. My husband had to call the owner the next day and ask her to change the bed sheets and clean the dirty room and bathroom. The owner blamed it on the fact that she “can’t see without her glasses” and cleaned the room the next day. Adding to our misery the dog kept barking the whole night till 2-3am . This was my worst experience ever! Never going back and I don’t recommend it to anyone..
Our booking was cancelled one week before arrival

We booked a stay here months in advance, but the owner cancelled our booking only one week before arrival, after I had contacted the hotel to give our expected time for arrival. This almost doubled the price of our stay in Guildford - with such short notice it is difficult to find affordable rooms.
Absolutely awful experience from start to finish!

Absolutely awful experience in every aspect. Arrived and dropped off bags in room, very strong smell of fabric conditioner. Opened windows and left for afternoon meetings in Guildford. Returned back around 9pm, room still stinking of fabric conditioner. There was dust literally everywhere, cobwebs in all corners and some very suspicious stains on pillows and bed linen. Brown hairs also visable on duvet and I'm blonde so defiantly not mine. Kettle cord didn't reach plug socket so had to put the kettle on the floor! Plug socket by desk was very loose and unsafe, WiFi didn't seem to be available and no one around to ask. . The whole room was just dirty, wallpaper falling off the walls, empty bottle of wine, playing cards and dirty sock under the bed!! No fan provided and if you opened the windows you got nothing but the smell of Chinese takeaway food. Breakfast is in an awful cafe over the road with possibly the worst food I have ever eaten, certainly didn't return there the second morning. I couldn't stop sneezing when in was in the room the stench of fabric conditioner was so bad I felt physically sick. I have been in touch with trading standards and await a response. £65 a night was mental considering I could have stayed at the Travelodge just down the road for less money! Will never return and urge people not to!!
