Misleading and very bad
The worst thing about this hotel is that the descriptions on all the reservation sites are entirely misleading. If you are looking for a rudimentary hotel with no facilities and don’t care so much about cleanliness or hygiene, you might decide this place is a good deal and the right place for you. But it is sold as something else. The pictures of the beach are actually not part of the hotel, the exercise room was virtually empty, had no usable equipment at all. The spa was a dingy door with a sign ‘massage room’ next to it - the kind you’d be nervous to enter, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were empty! and dirty with some old wood palettes on the ground, the rooms were dirty, bed linens and pillows were basic and hard, the air conditioning did not work, there were strange mechanical noises all night that prevented sleep, the sea view was technically there if you crane your neck and look in the distance at one sliver of what was in front of you, but most of the view was piles of trash and dilapidated buildings. They charged the full amount in arrival, although they said they only blocking a guarantee. When we voiced our concern and checked out, they said they wouldn’t charge us (and i thought they hadn’t - i only discovered later they had and i have now opposed the charge with my credit card company).
Not worthy of ranking
This hotel may have once been a gem but has lost its splendour. We booked a twin room and were told only a double was available. After checking the room it was two twins pushed together however staff were very disinterested in remaking into twin beds. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and had used toiletries on the counter and dirty towels in it. The aircon was incredibly loud and difficult to sleep while it was on. Breakfast was average and very disappointing. Overall it was clear that staff were disinterested and had no care for customer service
A gem in much sought after Gundogan.
Having visited Gundogan for approximately 15 years I have to write and say how much I enjoyed my stay at Vita Bella last week. I am very happy to say that this is probably the best hotel in Turkey in which I have ever stayed! The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Pelin who was available to answer any questions and organised very efficient and professional transfers to and from the hotel. Breakfast was a wonderful feast of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, cheese, meat, olives, several different kinds of bread and fresh coffee. A real delight. The pool and beach areas are kept incredibly clean and tidy with discretely attentive staff who will serve at your sunbed from both bars. The famous fish restaurants are less than 5 minutes level walk along the beach or pavement. Rooms are very tastefully decorated and offer a minibar, tea and coffee making facilites, slippers, a safe, hairdryers, full length mirrors and black out curtains. I would not hesitate to recommend to any visitor to Gundogan looking for a charming Turkish hotel right on the beach. I cannot wait to return! Thank you everyone for making my holiday so enjoyable and for exceeding my expectations!
Vita Bella to the rescue.
Let down by our previously booked hotel, so having read the trip adviser reviews and with the family anxious I rang the hotel and asked to see the rooms before we booked. I was obliged by the wonderful Pelin who was welcoming throughout the stay. She was always on hand for anything we needed and made sure all the staff were attentive to our needs. Hotel has been modernised and was clean and well maintained throughout. Most of the guests were Turkish and not everyone spoke perfect English but there was always someone on hand so we had no issues. The guests were all pleasant and friendly as were the staff. The hotels general manager was on hand at breakfast and throughout the hotel to ensure things were spot on. Our Room was a family suite, spacious and comfortable with a little kitchen, fridge and microwave, with basic utensils, Bathroom had a corner bath and was very spacious and decorated to a high standard, The air conditioning worked well and with 2 balconies and facing the sea we enjoyed them both. We stayed for 3 nights and had the delicious breakfast every day, it was mainly Turkish but some international cuisine also, with fresh orange juice. Omelettes could be ordered and the service was efficient and friendly. The breakfast area was very spacious and you had the option of sitting outdoors by the pool. The hotel had its own car park which is free and there was always plenty of space. House keeping was good and friendly. They have a small gym with some free weights and and indoor pool (not heated) and a Spa which was nice. The outdoor pool is as pictured and the hotel is by the sea, has its own pier and there were plenty of sun loungers. Definitely recommend this Hotel and the facilities.
Loved this hotel. Probably had one of the worst views as overlooking the side by the car park. But compensated by two balconies, one with partial sea view. Lovely room, gorgeous bathroom. All just as the photos so must be very new. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Friendly staff. Beautiful pool and pier area straight across on the beach. Lost a star as the spa was a total waste of time. It was the end of the season and nothing was working. Booked a Turkish bath - no dropping in. However, having waited all day for my appointment they couldn’t get it turned on yet alone have it hot for my treatment so really disappointed. Pool very cold and jacuzzi freezing but that wasn’t on either so it didn’t make any difference. We did see the sauna hot once!! This was a particular shame as the weather can get dodgy towards the end of the season and we had two wet days when a luxurious indoor pool etc would have been great. But still loved this hotel and would definitely recommend.
