Great Value, Good Location.
The Red Chief Motel is great value for money. While it is an older motel, the rooms are a good size, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Our room, a deluxe queen, had a queen and single bed, microwave, and toaster. A bonus was that everything worked. The motel is situated off the highway, but still just a short flat walk to the shopping centre, pubs and RSL Club. Very friendly hosts who were happy to let us check in early. A good place to stay.
Great value & good location
Not the newest motel in town, but clean & comfy. Quiet location too off the main drag, but still within 150m walking distance to shops, restaurants, pubs & club. Friendly service & a welcome recommendation to the Services Club for dinner. We’d revisit for sure.
Would not recommend
The lady in reception was friendly but made a comment on how I got the room so cheap. Room was very dated. Poor lighting in bathroom and no exhaust fan so gets very steamy. Smoke alarm in room had a plastic bag over it. There was a biscuit packet under the bed so was unsure if they cleaned properly. Bed was quite uncomfortable and firm. Not entirely their fault but it rained and there was poor drainage so needed to walk though water to get out of room. I won't stay again
Dated but ok
Very dated room. Original bathroom (60's?) with cracks in tiles siliconed over. Relatively clean although the mirror in the main room was dirty. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, with clean linen and the rest of the room was also clean. It was a stinking hot day (43 degrees) so appreciated the air conditioner. Owner was pleasant.
Comfortable but motel wouldn't allow late checkout!
There's No info. about WiFi in motel folder. After 7.5hrs driving & checking in at 2130hrs, we had to call to find out password. No late checkout available! Room was very dated but the price was reasonable for this.
