More about the hotel
Going out of business????
Had a reservation for July 2020 and got an email from the general manager that my reservation was cancelled and they are staying closed indefinitely. I emailed her and asked if they were remodelling, selling, or rebranding; and have not received an answer. The Econolodge right down the street is available and the reviews are good.
Will Be Back!
This hotel definitely met our needs while visiting our son for the weekend at UMass. The front desk hotel staff was very accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. Accommodations were reasonably priced, clean, comfortable and located in a great area - centrally located to anything we needed. Pool was clean (although a bit chilly) but a nice touch to finish off the evening of activities. Small continental breakfast was just the right amount to get us jump-started for the day's activities. We'll be back!
Good for an Overnight
Not sure I would want to spend a long time here, but. We had a very compact room with a king bed. There was a john and a full bath, but the sink was in the entrance hall. There was a good TV, desk and chair, and one lounge chair. The room was clean and fine. Breakfast is limited to muffins and juice, although the coffee is good. At the price point, this is a good choice.
Good Choice For Hadley
Stayed here because my preferred Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Courtyard by Marriott were all sold out. Got a reasonably-priced room here through Expedia, but should have booked instead through the chain's website (not that it would have made any difference price or benefit-wise.) Wi-fi and breakfast were included and all in with taxes paid about $155 on a Saturday night. Not proud of the rate, but everything else was booked so I was glad to have gotten a room! Yes, it's a Rodeway. And yes, it's an older property. But expectations are everything. Given all of the less-than-enthusiastic reviews on here, I was bracing for something quite a bit worse. Instead I was pleasantly surprised. You're getting a Rodeway, not a Ritz-Carlton. I went in with greatly reduced expectations and came away a happy customer. Yes, the room was worn. But it had a refrigerator, microwave, was a decent size and everything worked. I got a good night's sleep, had a decent shower and a nice breakfast. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Will it be my first choice? No, because of my loyalty to the Hilton/Marriott/IHG brands. But would I stay here again? Absolutely if rooms at my preferred hotels were not available. People at the front desk on my Saturday afternoon were very nice. Breakfast was on a par at similar offerings at Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn, while the Hadley Courtyard only has a paid breakfast option. No complaints. Price was high for what it is, but that was a function of supply and demand and everything else was sold out the Saturday night that I needed to stay.
Great Find!
My wife, our two children (5 + 8) and I stayed here for a weekend visit in November. A little dated, but modernized where it mattered and clearly not neglected. Our room was clean and comfy. Cute, indoor pool was nicely maintained and appointed - towels, showers, bathroom, etc - and a big hit with the kids. Nice breakfast buffet covered more than the basics (make your own waffles!) but not extravagant and always kept fresh. We booked over the phone with a friendly person at the front desk - took advantage of the AAA discount - and checked in late, with no glitches. All in all, a nice experience and good value - we will stay here again.
