Guys Golf Group Good Time

Reviewed 25 june, 2022

We have a group of guys (20) that get together before Father's Day every year to go golfing, play cards, drink, and sing karaoke. Then we head home to our families to celebrate Father's Day. We have done this trip for 22 years and we never go to the same place. In 2019 we booked the Half Moon Bay Lodge and to their credit, they accommodated us and we were able to have our Mancation this year (2022). The rooms were more than adequate, the pool and hot tub, though a bit small were also fine for our needs. The only complaint I have is we did not have a shuttle service to take us to the golf courses: (Old Course, Ocean Course, Crystal Bay). All the Lyft cars were not big enough to carry a foursome with clubs. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but they are also very clean.

Don’t recommend!!!

Reviewed 15 june, 2022

This place is horrible. Literally a “roach motel.” I was here for business and it was a terrible experience:no elevators so you have to carry your bags up and not handicap friendly, one of my colleagues had roaches in his room, another found old fruit under the couch and in the fridge, another colleague didn’t have hot water and his water nozzle broke. There is no AC nor any heat and in the middle of June it was frigid in the area. Also, no ubers and old/gross cab companies. Half Moon Bay itself is a village with nothing notable. The hotel is in dire need of renovations ASAP.

Not gracious at all

Reviewed 15 may, 2022

We hosted a wedding in the area and many guests stayed at the hotel. Hotel management wanted to charge us $5/pp to distribute COVID tests to guests at check in! Totally felt nicked and dimed. A guest also told us that the room was cold and maintenance took forever to bring her a heater and extra blankets.

Very dated property - rooms need updating

Reviewed 27 april, 2022

This is an old motel. There is no elevator, the rooms are very dated and the rate for a room was extremely high for what we received. The room size was good (large room with high ceiling on the 2nd floor). The mattress was old and in need of replacement. The sliding door lock was broken. The shower was very old (old tile, old fixtures) and there was very low water pressure. For the price we paid, we expected much more and will not stay here again.

Spring Visit

Reviewed 11 april, 2022

We retired from the Bay Area to Roseville, but at one time, we were regular visitors to Half Moon Bay. It is one of our favorite places. Now, Half Moon Bay Lodge is on our list. The room was large and comfortable and the bed was perfect. The Lodge is near Highway 1, but not too close. We could not hear traffic. The calm and quiet are a delight, and it is less than a mile from a beautiful beach. The grounds are well groomed, and the pool and hot tub a delight. Travel time is a breeze for us - 2 ½ hours.
