Very average hotel

Reviewed 29 september, 2021

Although this hotel is in a great location, it is extremely dated and in need of an update. The carpet was poorly maintained in the room and overall the furniture was run down. The bathroom and shower were decent and clean. The most redeeming qualities of the room were the comfortable bed and large TV. In the current condition it is really a three star at best.

Would stay at The Barrington again!!!!

Reviewed 15 september, 2021

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at The Barrington a few days early. The Barrington was LOVELY- great location, great amenities, spacious and the staff was gracious. I would say hosts more than staff based on their friendly nature. We had to leave early due to incoming weather and the hosts were nice enough to pack our breakfast to go quite early. Thank you for a lovely stay!

4-Star Hotel, 2-Star Bed. For $200 a night the bed shouldn't have an inescapable Valley

Reviewed 14 september, 2021

The hotel is in a good location for exploring Halifax on foot. Overnight parking nearby adds $20. It room was "tired". Good bathroom, but decor aging. The bed had an inescapable valley down the middle. Many hotels make this mistake. The basic function of a bedroom is to let you sleep well. Given the choice, a fresh mattress would have been a better investment than a huge TV.

Decent Hotel

Reviewed 30 august, 2021

We didn’t want anything too pricey since we wouldn’t be spending most of our time at the hotel. The hotel has a pool/gym (we didn’t use) and a restaurant for breakfast attached. We actually didn’t end up eating there because it closed so early. Some pictures and when you enter the lobby makes you believe the hotel is pretty modern/updated but that’s not the case. It’s pretty old/outdated in the rooms. Again, if all you want to do is sleep there, it’s not a bad option. It’s proximity to the harbour front and other fun streets with restaurants is great! It also is attached to the tunnels to get from place to place without freezing/getting wet - Bonus! Price was right, staff was friendly. They did not do daily housekeeping but I’m sure if we requested it, they would have. Parking is across the street for $23/daily, like a 2-5 minute walk using escalators/elevators to get there. Overall, I would say it’s decent hotel and would use it again if they had the same pay for 2 get the 3rd night free deal!

Very clean, quiet and walking to everything

Reviewed 28 august, 2021

Really enjoyed this hotel. Everything was within walking distance. The park is so close you can hear the nightlife and bands playing. Very clean and great staff. Doors lock at 11pm to ensure safety of guests. Hotel connects to indoor mall and catwalk to another indoor mall. Parking is accessible through the catwalk/mall. All day in/out privileges with stay at $20 all day parking fee. Cheaper than other hotels in the area.
