Central location, nice room and do not miss the "Rafi Special" cocktail

It is only 400 m to the central station and all its shops. Quiet part of the city. My room was large and comfortable; especially the AC was effective and there was a large refrigerator. The staff in the reception was very nice and responsive to every need I had. The restaurant Bistro Schweizerhof served food of high quality. On the menu they had a cocktail named Rafi Special. It contained about "everything" so I was curious and ordered it. Mr Rafi is the bartender there, so it is his unique creation. It appeared to be the best cocktail I have had in my long life, and I have had a few! Wow. So, good that I even ordered a second glass. If I had not become a little influenced I would have had even more of it.

The hotel is a construction site. Very loud and dirty. Service is unfriendly. And for status guests (Hilton Diamond) there is no full free breakfast, only some bread and marmalade. Awful place, especially for status guests who know other Hilton hotels in Germany (with executive lounge, free breakfast etc.).

'Minibar' contained two non-alcoholic beers - nothing else. Spa and fitness were both closed and moved to an ordinary guest room but restricted to one guest at a time. There was coffee grind on the floor rrvealing that floor had not been vaccumed.

Conference hotel with good food.

This is a typical conference hotel. Rooms are very bland and uninspiering but functional and larger than normal. Pillows are very hard. Reception service is slow. Free wifi. Conference facilities are good. What impressed me were the quality of the food and conference snacks. Staff in the restaurant are really friendly and helpful.

Lovely One Night Stay

First I have to question some reviews who give 4 out of 5 for their perfect stay. I had a perfect stay so it's 5 out of 5 from me! As IHG spire I got a much needed early check-in and a lovely king room, spotlessly clean and such a comfortable bed. Complimentary water was much appreciated as were the English tv channels as I was happy to spend a night in after a day exploring. Slippers would have been nice, dressing gown appreciated. Staff lovely only one point I was booked room only and no mention of adding breakfast on arrival which I might have added, however I spotted the most amazing bakery round the corner which I totally recommend Fahrenhorst, check it out! Highly recommended this hotel.
