Four more stays until we've been in all the rooms. :D
We've been here a few times before, and on the floorplans we'd seen there is one room with a tub. We specifically asked in advance if we could get that one, and we did! It was nice to take tubs to warm up after a week on a Waddeneiland mid-January. Breakfast is available for a fee at the Hotel Zeezicht, which is also where you check-in and obtain your room key. The rooms are neat, well laid out, comfortable and attractive. There are vending machines in the hallway. We hope that travel is possible again soon, as we'd love to come back!
Close to Ferry terminal
Small hotel with only 7 rooms, I think, and lacking it’s own reception. To check in or out, and to have breakfast, you cross the street to Hotel Zeezicht where the reception desk is at the bar. The check-in process was a lengthy process and quite frustrating, but when we saw the room it was absolutely worth it. Room was quite large with everything you would expect from a much more expensive hotel. Kettle and coffee machine in room, our own little patio, large bathroom with huge rain shower and all very clean. My only complaint really is that you cannot press numbers for channels on the remote for the tv, but have to go up or down one step at a time. With some 990 channels it was too frustrating a procedure to even try! The hotel is very accessible, I would say even for a wheelchair there would be plenty of room to move around the bed and in the bathroom. There is even an elevator to the upper floors. Breakfast is okay but not more. It was rather expensive, so I would not pay extra for it another time. Finally, the location is great. We were going on the ferry to Vlieland in the morning, and the terminal is literally across the street from the hotel. It was easy to find parking and it didn’t cost much at all. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
Old wordly building living with canal view
Accommodation is more guest house feel as there is no reception etc as in hotels; keys are collected from another hotel up along next to the canal. Perfectly located within few 100 metres from the ferry harbour AND Hoek's fish & chips shop at the harbour - highly recommended. Beautiful area with canal & boats on your doorstep. The station is within comfortable walking distance. I enjoyed and felt comfortable in Harlingen ....
Compact, handy, clean
We were in transit, and this place was ideal. It’s within easy walking distance to the ferry terminal and the railway station. You have to check in at a nearby hotel, but this wasn’t a problem, and we later dined at the restaurant here, and it was good. Our accommodation was on the ground floor and had no view, but it was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We may have found it a little cramped if we’d been staying for more nights.
Great central hotel
The room was large and the shower very modern. The bed was excellent. There was even a smal private outside space. The location is very central. There is public parking available near the hotel (paid parking between 0900-1700hrs).
